Usually about a week and a half but I’m on the west coast. It might be slower due to two things, the sale and people’s fear that they might be going out of business. According to the forum some pretty big orders are being placed. Just guessing though.

I placed a really big paper order (like a foot and a half) awhile back when they had an even huger sale, like 30% off, and it took three weeks.

PTI did respond to me already. Just upset that I have been charged and payment will be due before I receive my order that's all. Oh well, looking forward to receiving my order!

I believe they said that the Release this month will be postponed a bit, due to their sale. So, I'm guessing it will take a bit longer to get your order too, with the high volume of orders. I live closer than you do, & it usually never takes more than a week to get my order, but with the sale, it would probably take a bit longer even for me.

I don't know of any companies who let you hold off on paying until you receive your order.

They're NOT SUPPOSED TO charge your card till it's shipped. But, I've found MANY companies charge your card before shipping anyway.

Seems like it’s happening more and more. Unless it is something on reserve I am finding that more often than not I get charged immediately.

I think the way they get-around-it is by printing the shipping label, which allows them to access the money. There can be a lapse of time from when the shipping label is generated and when the actual package is delivered to the postal service for shipping. I learned this from buying on EBay.

I placed my order with Papertrey on the 1st charged on the 2nd no order yet. Placed an order with Tapeonline, charged the 5th received yesterday. Placed and order with michaels.com charged on the 6th received package today.

Only noticing these dates and charges as I am trying to payoff this months charges by due date. Something I very rarely do.

INTERESTING! Because I ordered something from a store, not related to stamping, & the label is ready, the card charged, but it hasn't been received by the postal service....... It's been SEVERAL DAYS like this now. :/

That’s interesting. That makes sense about the shipping label. Seems like charges hit my card pretty fast after an order on almost everything I buy. I really don’t care too much unless it’s on reserve or shipping is slow.

The reason I am aware this happens with the shipping label/money realease is that on EBay, when you use PayPal, the merchant is not allowed to access the money until they show proof of intent to ship (i.e. the shipping label).

The purchase history on EBay will show the status of an order. You are able to check when a package was mailed. If Label is printed by not yet mailed it will say awaiting shipment. I’ve had some merchants wait several days before actually shipping the item.

I am so pleasantly surprised at how quickly I received my order this time! I placed my order shortly after the original email came through at midnight on the 1st and I received my order on the 7th. I know the last sale it took about a month to receive and I was happy to see they put out the disclaimer to expect longer than normal shipping times with this sale. Hopefully everyone is starting to see their orders come in too!

There isn’t a law that says a seller has to hold off charging before shipping. But lots of credit card issuers (banks) have rules that don’t allow sellers to charge the credit card before shipping.

It will be interesting how this plays out with more and more sellers sending shipped notices but all they’ve done is create a label.

Just received my order today. I just love the stamp set I ordered. I thought PTI shipping was a little expensive but my order came shipping USPS 2 day Priority.

I didn't even know my order was shipping until I logged into my account at PTI today and saw a tracking number. Put it into USPS tracking and was delighted that it was out for delivery!

My first order and very happy!

They have always been slow on shipping for my orders. Now I can't imagine their overload with the biggest sale I've ever seen there. I have not received my package from the 15% off sale as of now, but I'm at work so it may be on my doorstep!
Best prices for Lovely cardstock...original designs in their dies...Lots of Christian stamps & matching word dies.
Brushed Birds is the Sweetest set, and the group of ladies I give cards to all said "Awwww" when they saw them.

Just an FYI for those discussing paying for an order before it ships - if using PayPal for payment, it will be charged immediately. I don't believe there is anything the merchant can do about that - it is part of the PayPal platform, probably to make sure funds are available. If PayPal delayed collecting funds until shipment, then many orders would get messed up due to a bank account being depleted or credit card limit being reached between the order and shipping dates. I do a lot of online shopping, and every type of store collects funds immediately when PayPal is used.

For regular direct credit card payments, it seems to vary with the type of store. Some will make a customer agree to the terms that the card will be charged at the time of the order.

There are $1.00 mini stamp sets for sale in the last chance area. I've noticed that they sometimes just add things to that area, even sets that weren't on the list for retirement.

The $1.00 sets are a great deal and would make a great gift for an elementary school aged child.

Also, they're still running the 15% off sale, even though it was supposed to end.

I have a tracking number for the order that I placed on the 24th.

So, this week there was an announcement that the sale will continue through the month of April..... AND toward the end of April, they will be letting us know some things & a release will happen in May! "April showers, bring May flowers....," was their analogy! LOL I wonder how they are fairing without the releases to keep them going?

Rumor has it they are going to start selling wholesale, so you'll be able to buy their items at places other than just PTI.

Well, with the way they do their release night--site crashes, late at night (that always bothered me), selling in other places MIGHT BE GOOD. But then again, it COULD BE BAD, as they can't keep their items in stock! LOL I would LOVE to be able to buy their items elsewhere! But, will they be selling where one normally shops, is the question with that rumor! LOL

Hey Everyone!
I just got an order from PTI with the sale going on, & I was wondering if you too have noticed a change in their product? I noticed the dies are lighter in color & they don't sound the same when clanked together.... It looks like they are "poured," as the edges aren't as smooth like the previous product. I got a mix of "new" & old--- I can tell. The new "steal" dies don't seem as sturdy to me. Anyone else notice this????

I'm not positive, someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think they switched die manufactures for a period and the quality was not as good. The dies were lighter in color and there was an issue with them discoloring the paper when used. You may have received dies that were part of that time frame. I think they have since switched back.

So, they wouldn't take them back I'm sure, as they're trying to get rid of them, huh? I wonder---- the smaller dies I ordered were the, She Moves Dies & the Inspired Series- Love Die. They were OUT for such a long time. They finally notified me of them being in & they are the reason I placed the order, to make sure I got them. They are lighter in color, just like the larger die I got which is the Made With Love Tags 1 Dies. They're so much larger & you can REALLY see a difference with that set. I'm going to have to run them through my machine & see what happens. It seems with them being out of stock for so long, that I would have gotten the newer dies IF they switched back! I know they won't take them back as I think about it. I've already snipped them apart & filed off the little points. :/ Thanks for letting me know this mxgirl71!

Yep! I JUST ran the larger dies through the machine & they DO discolor the edges of the dies in silver. UGH!!! I think I'm going to let them know what I think! You pay good $$$ & you EXPECT GOOD PRODUCT!

I ran the smaller dies through my machine also, & the same result as above. AND I taped the dies down too, so they wouldn't move around since they were small, & the tape took the silver paint off the dies!

I JUST e-mailed PTI to see if I am stuck with "duds?" If they would replace them with the higher quality dies that PTI normally puts out? We'll see what happens. MAYBE, with all their changes, they switched BACK to this other company to do their dies? Is what I'm wondering. I ALWAYS thought of them as a Hallmark kind of store, & trying to hang in there for them to put out their new line..... Now, I'm wondering..... We'll see what they do to rectify the situation.

I doubt they'll take them back, only because they're trying to reduce inventory. My guess is "Sales items are final". I'm wondering if things were out of stock online because they just didn't have a handle on what they had in their warehouse. My thought is now that they're cleaning house, they're finding things they have in the warehouse and are putting them back in stock as opposed to actually ordering more dies. This may be why you still got the lesser quality dies. Just my opinion though. Who really knows.

It really doesn't matter that they had dies in the warehouse & used them instead of ordering more, the problem is they're selling, "duds," Or product that isn't up to par! People work hard for their money, & expect quality merchandise, especially when they put out quality product before, & customers expect that quality to continue.

I got a set of those dies that discolored. They said they had tried a different manufacturer because they were having trouble with their supply chain. Then they changed back to their old manufacturer. There was lots of forum advice about scrubbing them and running them through the dishwasher, etc. I just started cutting them with a layer of tissue paper in between. At the time they were willing to take them back but didn’t have any replacements to offer. I think they are old stock. Just guessing though.

Thought I'd let you know what is going on with the lesser quality dies I received from PTI.... I contacted PTI, & they got back to me on Friday. They said they never had problems with their dies before, but wanted PICTURES! So, I sent them pictures. The weekend has passed & it is now, Tuesday, & I am STILL WAITING to hear back from them! :/

Well they did have problems and it was on the forum about washing them, etc. I still get grey residue if I cut without tissue. I didn’t do the big scrub. I’ll try to find the posts on the forum about it and add a link. Maybe the CS person you talked to wasn’t around when that was a issue.

Ok here you go. Also you can go to their forum and enter grey residue dies and find the conversation. I think you have to signup to be on the forum

The A2 dies I purchased a couple of months ago were leaving this same grey metallic residue on the card stock, so I contacted customer service. Julie was very helpful and suggested I wash them. So I washed them all at once with dishwashing liquid and a very light scrub with a scrub pad at the kitchen sink. I kept them all together in a colander so I wouldn't lose any down the drain. And it worked perfectly, no more residue!

It would be great if PTI would send all their customers an e-mail with instructions to fix any problem that comes up with new products, just as a nice "heads-up" customer service touch. And make an announcement when they are experimenting with new coatings, etc... It would save a lot of time for both their CS department and frustration for all the customers who bought the items.

It isn't a big deal to wash the dies, but I think we would all have felt better about it if we had been informed of the potential problem ahead of time, and given a solution.

THANK YOU for letting me know, Mary! I'll try washing them. I actually rarely go on their forum, but I can access it. I agree with you about how they SHOULD give their customers a heads-up! So, do you think then that this die company will be the one they put out all their "new" stuff through? I'm WONDERING.... Here is the picture I sent them?

You can see the difference in the dies quite clearly! The one on the left was purchased at the same time as the others. The left one is darker, whereas the others are lighter, not to mention how they feel. AND you can see where I taped down the little ones to die cut with, so they wouldn't slide around, & the paint came off! The paint is there to cover up the imperfections I'm guessing. I've already filed off the sharp edges when I took them apart, along with the odd edge that was on one of them, from being POURED STEEL---it looked like an extra lip on the edge. That is how it looked to me. AND EVERYONE KNOWS, poured steel isn't durable! The quality is lacking & I'm afraid the quality will continue to lack at PTI. This just might be my last order from them! We'll see IF they get back to me!
