Default New Prismacolor Pencils!!!

For all you prismacolor fans...here is the scoop on the discontinued Neon colors and the 12 new colors they brought out to replace them. It sounds like in addition to that 12...they are ADDING another 12 new colors to their line up. So that is 24 new colors in all! Very cool....

Regarding your question about the new colors ... Twelve (12) new colors that were introduced when the Neon's (and others) were eliminated. New colors are:

Beige Sienna
Chestnut
Chocolate
Putty Beige
Ginger Root
Peach Beige
Sky Blue Light
Powder Blue
Muted Turquoise
Pale Sage
Kelp Green
Green Ochre

When our racks were updated, the Prismacolor rep peeled off the old names and replaced the rack labels with new labels of color names -- plus a header that said "Introducing new colors ..." and the header named the new colors. Unfortunately, I do not have a list of the colors eliminated. BUT looking in the discontinued Prismacolor box we have 12 different colors:
Neon Red
Neon Orange
Neon Green
Neon Yellow
Deco Aqua
Deco Orange
Deco Peach
Deco Pink
Deco Yellow
Metallic Tile Blue
Metallic Copper
Steel

Here is another piece of information about Prismacolor -- they have always kept their line at the same number count of colors. Prismacolor has just informed us this past week that they are coming out with 12 NEW colors that will be an extension to the color line -- NOT replacing any existing colors. We do not yet have the information on the new color names. We will be glad to keep you informed if you are interested.

Sincerely,
Pat

Warning -- the newer 120 sets already have these "new" colors in them, so there's no need to buy the separate 12-set of new colors in addition to the 120. Learned the hard way!

THanks,
Susie:
they are a brand of colored pencils. Many stampers use them to color in designs with a technique that uses gamsol (odorless mineral sprits and little paper stumps -- they help to blend the colors). Princessink's gallery is full of awesome examples. She will be coming out with a tutorial on this technique, but you can also find one by going to one of my favorite stamping sites -- http://www.gingerstamp.com/pencils/
This explains this technique in detail.

OK, I just ordered a 60 ct box through my office catalog at work. Are there different grades of pencils or are they all created equal? Gosh, I sure hope it's the correct one. We shall see when the box arrives. Does anyone have a picture of the box they can post? I shall invest in the gamsol and stumps probably from Inkyantics. Is that the best place? I have been coveting this product since seeing all the fabulous samples here.
