Thanks a bunch for sharing the exciting news!!
I hope some of you may remember how emboss with an embossing folder, and no machine.
A few years ago at an EXPO there was a Cuttlebug booth. I had already purchased my MAIN item of the EXPO, so I wasn't interested at that moment to get the machine. Later on, I bought a Cricut and never bought it. So, the woman working the booth showed me how you could use them without the machine.
She opened the folder, set a piece of paper on one of the sides. I don't know which. And, she took out this nobby wood piece that you hold in your hand and just rub over the paper/or the folder (?) and it would transfer to the paper.
Does anyone else remember this well enough to fill in my questions. Does anyone have any idea of the nooby, wood thing? I don't have one. It didn't hurt the plastic folders at all. Just to be sure, they are the exact type that OH My Crafts has on sale all of the time. I can't remember well enough to do it...I have a bunch of folders. I have embossing tools. Can anyone figure out if there is a way i can do this with embossing tools. I have a light box, too. Any help is welcome, appreciated and will help make me thrilled!
Hey is anyone still here? Or did I ruin your shopping high? Sorry about that. Does anyone know if we have a Cuttlebug Specialist here, or someone who would just know? Thanks!
Traci, i am not positive about this but i think that friskars makes an embossing sheet thing ( double sided plastic) and that the tool to use it is a knobby wood stumpy thing with little metal dots on the end you rub on the cardstock?
(my mom has these) and if i remember right they are Blue and can be found at joanns fabrics... anyways just thought i would mention it incase you had one of those stores nearby and could go in and see if it was what you were looking for.
wow, the embossing folders are nice but what caught my eye as I scrolled down to the folders was the new diecut edge thingie...can't recall what the actual name was but WOW, are those ever cool!!!! I love my Big Shot and am always so tempted by things that will work in it....nice new stuff! One of my stampin' BFF's works closely with Tim Holtz and does CHA booths, etc. with him....can't believe she has been holding out on me!!! Jan
