Default Cardmaker Magazine is no more :(

To our readers,
After producing CardMaker magazine for many years now, we will be ceasing publication after the winter 2017 issue. Try as we might, we unfortunately have been unable to retain enough loyal readers and subscribers to continue publishing CardMaker.
We will also be closing the CardMaker website, blog and Facebook pages.
Thank you sincerely for your years of support and for sharing your love of card making with us through the pages of CardMaker.
With warmest regards,
Tanya Fox & Brooke Smith

Such a bummer. Tanya is such a great lady. I don't know Brooke, but how sad for the industry.

That was my favorite magazine, but lately I've not been buying it. Too much available free online. It was a great magazine.

I am almost afraid my hobby is becoming only for a few of us now. And that makes me so sad because I enjoy it so much and the meeting a chatting with other crafters!!!

Not surprising that no one is buying them much. Unless things have changed recently it was always the same people's items in all the magazines so you never got any new ideas and with all the blogs & videos there is too many free ideas online.

i don't think the craft is going away, just our willingness to pay for paper copies of ideas. There are a lot of online resources and a lot of people are moving away from storing paper copies of things.

I agree, I don't think crafting is going anywhere. There are more crafting supplies being produced and sold now than ever. Even in the eight years I've been involved, I've seen tremendous expansion in the market, and that wouldn't be the case if people weren't buying.

FYI, I bought a digital subscription to Craft Stamper through Pocketmags because it's a UK publication and the print sub would have been a fortune, but I find I love reading it on my iPad.

They told us at Creativation that it's a 38 billion dollar industry - so yes, I think we're safe

Although I have not been subscribing to CardMaker recently, I was getting them back in the early 90's and still have several years of subscriptions. I page through them every so often, and always enjoyed the magazine, but it was getting too expensive. I also see Just Cards is no longer sold at Walmart - I hope they don't publication as well. To CardMaker: thank you for all the past issues and all the hard work that was put into it !
