I don't know if everyone is tired of doing these yet... but I found the metal lunch tins in Joann's $1 section by the checkout counter! Here is a picture:
edited 6/2008: the tins are BAAACK!!!! see post #27 for new colors...
Love the image of you taking the picture! Is the lid clear or metal?
^^
Ditto.

Yeah, good thing my hair was combed and I had clothes on, eh? Has everyone seen that picture that gets passed around on the 'net of the guy taking a picture of something and the reflection in the mirror in the room is his naked booty? Hilarious....
ANYWAY... the tin is metal. It was just a sunny day and they are very clean I guess???
Thanks for the info.....checking tomorrow for cute lunchboxes is on my to-do when I'm in Madison! I've never tried one....looks like fun! What do you like to put in them?
I went to my Joann's and they didn't have these cute little tins! Has anyone else found them at their Joann's? Is this a new item?
Thanks in advance!
Vil:-)
I went to my JoAnn's this evening to return some ribbon and remember everyone talking about this tins, so I looked for them....and I found them!
They had the blue and red ones like the ones that g33kgr1 showed in her picture. They also had certainly celery and pink colored ones...so cute!
Is there a resource or gallery that tells me what you guys used them for? I have some ideas, but I also love seeing what other ideas everyone comes up with....

Thanks,
Yep, I saw the celery/pink ones today too! Had to get one of course... even though I bought the other one...
I finally found the $1 tins this weekend but I'm wondering how easy it is to use paper around the top where the handle is. I looked at the gallery, but few of the boxes are the Joanns style. Any hints would be greatly appreciated!!!
oh, man! I need about 30 tins for my MOPS group, but we don't have a Joann's...maybe I'll have to drive down to get some. Of course, maybe I'll call first and see if it'd be worth it ;)

Slight hijack---one time my mom and dad had a really great hotel room in Reno on vacation. One night my mom tried to take a picture out their window (they were pretty high up) of the view. This was years ago when you had to get your film developed.
What came back was a great picture of my mom reflected in the window--in her bra and undies only. :p
These look like some i have been picking up at Michaels this spring.....A standard envelope ( 3 5/8 by 5 and 1/ will fit....A little bit bigger would also fit but you would have to make it yourself. The clerk told me this envelope size was the smallest you could send through PO. Takes regular postage.
