whipper snapper designs

Anyone has any discount code for them? I'd like to order but shipping is WAY too high. Anything will help!

TIA ;)

barbaralynn 05-07-2009 02:14 PM

I am not aware of a code right now, but if you sign up on their site, they send them out periodically. May not help you right now, but next time it will.

I LOVE their stamps! I love to swap their cards too (see my siggy! ;););))

Barb

xiunyuki 05-07-2009 02:38 PM

Thanks, Barb! I will surely swap once I have more of their cute stuff. Right now I only have 2 of their stamps. I just sign up for their newsletter. Thanks for replying!

I saw that. It's wonderful!!! I'm so happy for those who live close by. So jealous!

I love the Whpper Snapper stamps, too. But their shipping fee is really ridiculous!

I buy all my stamps as just the bare rubber, so the shipping is even worse to me since the package hardly weighs anything at all!

One time I ordered 3 little stamps, just the rubber, and they sent it in this huge box! Then they put the stamps on a piece of cardboard and put shrink wrap around it just to keep those little stamps from sliding all around the box. There has got to be a better way to ship their stuff!

Melissa C. 05-07-2009 04:26 PM

I don't have a code either, just wanted to chime in on the shipping amount also. I ordered 3 of AW's sets and they could have easily shippped in a small priority box. I don't need the extra cardboard that they used. Maybe if enough of us feel this way, they will make some changes.

deb_loves_stamping 05-07-2009 05:45 PM

It used to be that shipping to Canada was about $8.95 to Canada. Even though that was expensive, I could live with that ... however, now it is $14.95 to Canada! I absolutely cannot pay that much to ship unmounted sets to Canada ... I really really want a few of Anna Wight's sets, but just cannot justify spending that much on shipping. It's too bad because they would get a bunch of my money otherwise.

SnowyAK 05-07-2009 08:51 PM

Yep, the shipping is outrageous! It's $14.95 to me here in Alaska. As much as I love them, I won't be ordering them.

We're in the same boat then! It's that much to Hawaii as well. Us Alaskan & Hawaiian always get that *special* charge.

Vina82 05-09-2009 07:00 PM

I agree..I love their stamps but cannot justify the high ship fees. I submitted my email for sale alerts but I have not received any reduced or free ship offers yet. Only a free stamp (their choice) with a minimum purchase amount. I'd rather get 1/2 price or free shipping. So..I'll just wait.

sprtchick 05-11-2009 12:30 PM

Why do they charge more for Alaska and Hawaii? I can ship the clear envelopes to either of these places for the same amount of $$ as anyone else in the US. Seems sort of weird to me...blessings.

SnowyAK 05-11-2009 12:59 PM

You're right.....But, that is our lot in life...paying extra shipping. :D LOL It has to do with the mailing zones. Even to qualify for free shipping from some companies, we have to purchase double the amount as the "lower 48" states do. As much as I LOVE their stamps, another reason I have stopped purchasing from Whipper Snapper Designs is that they are not an angel company.

xiunyuki 05-12-2009 11:01 AM

hey ladies! I just got an email from them saying shipping is free from now til 5/15!!!! yay!! glad I signed up for the newsletter. and you get a free stamp as well!!!

SnowyAK 05-12-2009 11:17 AM

I got an email too from WSD, but it didn't say anything about free shipping, just the Sweet Treats stamp.

was it a code or something? I just got the quote for shipping and it says 8.95.

askagain 05-12-2009 11:50 AM

Subscribing! I've been dying for some of these and a free shipping offer might just tip me over the edge.

I got this email, too, but nothing about free shipping!!! I already have the Sweet Treats stamp, so would love to get in on the free shipping, for sure!

xiunyuki 05-12-2009 12:53 PM

I'll post the email I got here! Hope this helps! But just to let you know, I tried earlier to place an order but the shipping was still regular. It might be only for 48 continental states. I shoot an email to cs. Hopefully, they'll reply.

I'm another one who would love to buy stamps from Whipper Snapper but don't on account of their RIDICULOUS shipping rates. Unless I'm mistaken, Priority Mail to Canada is $10.95 for packages up to 4 pounds and Whipper Snapper charges $14.95?!!

I signed up for their newsletter a while back and the only shipping discount they've offered during that time was pitiful. I think it was just $2.50 or something like that... it wasn't anywhere close to being worthwhile, that much I do remember.

They had a decent discount on Anna Wight's stamp sets, a promotion I was dying to take advantage of, but didn't on account the high shipping. Did I mention that I think their shipping rates are RIDICULOUS?!! I wish Anna sold her own stamps so that we don't have to go through Whipper Snapper. :(

DOGLOVER 05-16-2009 03:45 AM

they do have very nice stamps, but i think they are high in price. they could reduce shipping and sell more. i guess she can't figure that out. i ship all the time world wide and to canada to ship about 5 wood mounted stamps is less then $5.00. so, i guess they are really trying to make up some money.

see how that business is hurting for sales and they have been down sizing since they closes their other store, i would think that they would get with the program. about a year or so they downsized the store that they are currently in. why not help your customers out?????????????????? go figure

Vina82 05-20-2009 11:32 PM

Addictedtorubberstamps.com sells WhipperSnapper and Anna Wight's stamps..not sure if they carry the brand new sets. They're having a huge sale right now including 50% off one item. It's been a while since my last order but they are quick to ship and reasonable ship fees. If you click on help, it will show their ship fee scale. I'm not affiliated with either company, just wanted to share another outlet for Whipper stamps.

Thank you for letting us know! I took a look at the site and they charge $9.09 to ship one Anna Wight set to Canada, but with the 50% discount it would cover the cost of shipping. So, one would be paying close to full price for the stamp set but the shipping would be free... not bad! I think I'll buy a set!

Hmmm... I wonder if Whipper Snapper will be offering any decent Memorial Day promotions?

:D Thanks again Vina82! Love your avatar... your kitty looks so much like the one I used to have.

A great explanation from a previous post

The shipping charge isn't just for shipping - it's also a handling fee to cover their costs for filling the order.
It's more efficient for companies to process larger orders. That's why they sometimes offer free shipping on orders over a certain amount - and why the shipping on a $30 order isn't usually 2x as much as on a $15 order.

Think about it this way - an order with one item, you still have to print the packing slip for the warehouse employee, they have to go to the shelves to pull the item, it gets packaged, labeled and sent out. Now repeat, say for 10 orders of 1 item each.

Compare that to ONE order of ten items - the company is saving 9 times of having to print the packing slip, and 9 times of taping and labeling the box or envelope. It is also probably taking a little less time to pull 10 items because the employee is already back in the shelf area. It might not seem like much, but then multiply it by 100 orders a day.

And I know that my example applies to an old-school company that actually prints out pick tickets and has employees pull orders and put them in a bin or tote with little automation, but even in a fully automated warehouse with robotic order pickers, it is still less expensive to send out large orders.

I know that this doesn't apply to an order for a single, more expensive item; however, the company is already making more on the markup of that item, so there's a little more profit cushion to cover the extra handling costs.

I still think the shipping price is too high. If other companies can ship unmounted rubber for so much less, I think they should be able to also. Maybe I am wrong about that, but I do know that I cannot afford to spend $14.95 on shipping ... just like I dont buy from PTI because they charge $23.00 to ship to Canada ... I just cannot justify that.

kitty14 05-26-2009 06:13 PM

I agree! I can understand it but I still can't bring myself to order from them on any "regular" basis.

I just buy the plain rubber, so that shipping fee is still ridiculous to me.

I have nobody to place an order with in order to cut the cost, so I wait until I have enough money for a big order. And "BIG" for me is only about $30 - $35. Even then, I have only ordered 2 times from them and probably won't order again for a VERY long time.

I got an email from them today and their "special" is $5 off the shipping but again ONLY with a $50 order!

Don't they EVER give us a break? Who can order $50 at a time! Not ME!!

askagain 05-27-2009 02:37 AM

I received the same offer. I am not compelled to place a large $50 order for a $5 credit. I've also received free stamp with purchase promos but it's their stamp choice & you still have to place a minimum purchase amount.

KatarinaM 05-27-2009 03:31 PM

I don't order from Whipper Snapper either because of their ridiculous shipping prices. I placed one order a while ago for UM stamps and they charged me just as much as if I had ordered a bunch of heavy wood mounted ones. Then to my horror, it came first class, must've cost them about 3 bucks to ship it. When I contacted them to complain, they said technically they didn't even have to ship it to me because I had only provided a rural route box addy and they only shipped to physical street addresses! They acted like they did me a favor!
Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought businesses were supposed to be eager to accomodate their varied customers needs, in hopes that they would earn more loyal customers...
I don't care how much work it is for them to pack and ship small orders, if they don't want to do it for a reasonable price they should wholesale only. Obviously if other companies of their size can do it, so can they. I suspect they know that people love their images and will pay whatever shipping rates they demand.
Maybe we should forward a link to this thread to them.

larue 05-27-2009 04:48 PM

They have a coupon for $5 off to help defray the cost of shipping.

The coupon is SHIP2U. You have to be logged in and you have to click on "my cart", when you are finished shipping, at the top to add your code.
