We are moving to Anchorage Alaska . . . already flew in and bought our house (close on Nov 30). . . still wondering where my stamp room will be . . . just sold our home here in GA (TONIGHT!!!) and am wondering if there is any other stampers or SU Demos there that I could get together to stamp with. We are 5 min from Elmendorf and 11 min from Eagle River.
If so . . . we should be there by Dec 1st. Looking forward to hearing from you all!

Not in Anchorage either, 200 miles east in Glennallen but welcome to the state! It was only 14 below last night! Anchorage is a beautiful city, hope your move is great!
Thanks for the chilly hello and the warm thoughts! I know that I will need it there! We were in Fairbanks for 5 years before moving here to Hahira GA for the last 1 1/2 yrs. I know that we won't be as cold in Anchorage but it will take a full year to get accumulated to the weather!! Seems like we always go from one weather extreme to another.
Alution Islands AK to dry New Mexico to HUMID Panama, South America to dry and freezing Fbnks, Alaska to humid GA and now back to Alaska! But . . . That's life in the AF! Hopefully now that DH is retired we will stay put for a while!

Good luck with your move. We are also AF and the movers packed us up yesterday for our move to South Dakota. They even packed our bread up-
I'm in for one moldy mess when we get to South Dakota at then end of this month
Wow good luck with your move. There should be lots of people wanting to stamp and do hobbies up there. No I'm not in Alaska either, just Canada, but some days the weather is no different.
Fun! A couple from my husband's group here in Kentucky is moving to Alaska about the same time as you. They are getting stationed there (Army). I know she is an avid scrapbooker, and I'm trying to convert her to stamping. I'll ask here if she'll be near you...Good luck and have fun!
WENSWORLD-Don't you hate it when they do that? We've had movers pack our garbage TWICE. Now we take it all out to the curb before the packers come.

I live in Eagle River, work in downtown Anchorage. I am actually a CTMH demonstrator but am friends with an SU demonstrator. We attend each others workshops, etc. There is actually a pretty good community of stampers in the Anchorage area. If you have any questions or would like to correspond privately my e-mail is [email protected]
Weather right now is about 20 degrees and clear. Still no snow.
Thanks for all the well-wishes! I truly do appreciate them. I have been a member of SCS for a while and have always enjoyed the friendship I feel on this site.
I can't wait to meet all the stampers in the area!

Anchorage hosted a SU regional convention in May and there were what seemed like hundreds of demos. My upline is from Eagle River. Don't you worry. You will find lots of creative people up here to stamp with.
