Tick. Tick, Tickers
Just a remonder that in deference to all of our buddies on dial-up, as well as the streamlined look that Daven likes , this is a "Ticker-Free" site
We know that you are excited to show off that you're expecting a new addition, your great weight loss, or a countdown to a special day in your life. HOWEVER, we appreciate if you do so with a text message in your signature rather than a ticker. It helps the site load faster, as well .
If you love the ticker idea, how about including something like
*WAITING for our SHINING STAR* due 5/10/05
or "I'm a loser, __________ lbs so far"
or even "Flipping the days of my calendar, our wedding is in June!"
yeah, yeah, a little goofy, but you get the idea.
Thanks in advace for your cooperation.

I was wondering when you'd post another one of these reminders, Britta! I've noticed the tickers starting to crop up again and I was worried they'd cause problems again like they did back around New Year's. Hmmm, maybe that's what was gumming things up with the server switch?

Thanks guys!
Rachel I actually feel bad and hope nobody thinks I am being a witch about them, so I try and give it some time in between. . But I have grown so used to NOT seeing them that when I do it seems so out of place! LOL
Anyway, thanks for the bumps, ladies!

Hmmm... And I thought that someone had a tick imbedded in her skin!
Thanks for the info. I don't even know how to find, let alone download, one! I can barely use my scanner! LOL

Thank you Britta for reminding us. I am one with slow dial up at home and I appreciate everyone who doesn't have the tickers. Thank you for all you do!

It's an online term -- just means you're adding a response to "bump" the thread back up to the top of the list!

Tickers are graphics that people download and they appear at the bottom of their signatures. They count down (or up) to a special event, such as a due date, age of their kids, etc. They are adorable, but really slow down the site. Hope that helps!
