For those waiting for NEW sets at 50% off...

it says on page 10 of February Stampin' Success that in addition to the Sincere Salutations, five current-catalog sets will be offered at a 50%. Sorry about that, I saw on other posts that everyone was looking forward to new sets.

WillStamp4Food 02-13-2005 02:44 PM

The info has already been leaked. There are other threads on here telling exactly which sets are on sale.

Hptmnn 02-13-2005 03:00 PM

Thanks, can you help...I can't find the "leak."

Hptmnn 02-13-2005 03:11 PM

I found it!

I am very excited--I think the sets they picked are great ones. I have two already and want three of the other four! :D I feel a spending spree coming on! :D

I'm a new demo - - Does this mean that these stamps may be discontinued? I've tried to search around to see if this has been discussed before, but I've had no luck. I really like some of these sets, but I'd hate to buy them if they are going to be discontinued when the new catalog comes out. Also, when does the new catalog come out?

I have heard the retirement rumor, but it can't be true at least for Stipple Celebrations cuz they just came out with a new inspiration sheet for it in January 2005.
Would Stampin Up do that and then retire the set?

jostamper 02-21-2005 09:51 AM

Last year Stampin' Up! ran a similar special, but the sets were older and due for retirement. As a matter of fact, all of them DID retire. Most of the sets in this year's special are fairly new (with the exception of Lovely As A Tree), but higher-priced sets. I think they're just trying to get people hooked by offering them some expensive sets dirt-cheap. I've been holding off on Shapes and Shadows, so I'm psyched to get that one!

srogers5 02-21-2005 09:54 AM

Stampin' Up has said that this extra special promotion (you don't even need to place a minimum order first) is a thank you to customers for being patient during their move. There were lots of backlogs and so this is a thank you. I also doubt that Shapes and Shadows will retire since they are the art for business cards and checks. But, one never truly knows what will make it and what will not.

Summer by the Sea is also a new set, and seems to be very popular. I'd be very surprised if they retired it so soon. There's also a greetings set (Simple Salutations....???) that is supposed to be coming out in the next catalog.

I just think they took the more expensive sets and the most popular ones in my opinion because that would be a great thank you to us as demos and customers to get them for 1/2 price. I think most are to new to retire in my opinion but that is only my opinion ;)

Thank you for the info. What a great company!

ilove2stamp2001 02-22-2005 05:27 AM

Yes, Stampin' Up! is a fantastic company. I think they are so very generous to us as demonstrators and customers. They don't have to offer these great specials, but I am so thankful that they do! :)
