Stamp It Magazine Subscription INFO

I had called the Stamp It magazine office (also the Papercrafts office) and asked why I haven't received my Stamp It yet. They said that there wasn't enough interest in a subscription service for this magazine, and it will only be available for the normal 4 issues on the newsstand ONLY. They are currently working on issuing refunds, but the lady didn't know how long it would be until we actually see our money.

That sucks!!!

that does stink...I was just thinking today how I should subscribe...long story short...I marked my calendar for today being the day the new issue would be on the racks...I went to three different stores since the one I usually get it at didnt have it out...Prior to leaving the first store I asked the girl who usually stocks them...she said if she only gets one or two she doesnt put them out  I gave her my name to put one aside if she found it...then I went shopping at the other stores...no luck...went back to the first store, she was gone, no one else had a clue until I had the clerks searching the store for my hopefully put aside issue...low and behold, as we were trying to figure out if it existed one of the kids said oh, is this for you? My issue!!!!! I had found it... Now I am willing to admit I have a problem...I was not going home until I found that issue...I guess that wasnt the short version but I just had to tell someone!!!! So, I guess I'll have to keep going through the stressful searches...but in the end it's worth it...

They should have given it more time, atleast til after the holidays. I was going to put it on my Christmas list for a subscription. That sucks!!

lburanas 10-19-2004 02:28 PM

darn i sent in my card for a sub but had selected "bill me" so i didn't pay yet. that sucks!

hockeymom 10-19-2004 02:39 PM

how funny

I had just called to and got the same story. I couldn't remember if I had subscribed or not. They have no way of telling.
I am pretty sure I said just bill me too.
What a bummer! Though I am starting to get upset with all my magazines in my postal box. My mailman has not personality and I think he has
been smushing my magazines into the box. When I get them they are torn and wrinkled.

I am with you on that one! I had it on my wish list too.

On a happy note, if you turn to page 61 you'll see MY artwork at the bottom. I'm so excited to see my name in print! I had a project in the Fall Stamp It! mag too. (pg 20)

Sorry, just had to share my excitement with people who would appreciate.

Have a great week,
Merrie

I had received a letter from Stamp It! in May of 04 offering me a subscription at a discounted rate because I susbscribed to Paper Crafts and mailed my payment in with my subscription. Two days ago I got my check back with a letter saying Stamp It! was not available for subscription at this time. Bummer to say the least. You can go on-line and purchase them as the issues become available.
The nearest store that carries Stamp It! for me is 3 HOURS away. Sucks to live in the boonies sometimes.

Stefanie 10-19-2004 03:51 PM

Merrie,
You should call your post office and explain about the condition of your mail. It could be that your mailman doesn't know better and he needs to be told :? or they will tell you that your mailbox is too small for the amount of mail that you get. If the later is the case then they should have left you a note on that already.
My DH is a letter carrier and he tells me that I should call every time there is something that isn't right. Of course if your letter carrier makes the correction then you can give him/her a nice hand made card that says thank you ! :)

I think the website is www.stampitmag.com

I am going to go this route instead of the many many trips to Barnes & Noble searching. Sure, you have to pay shipping, but I spend a fortune on gas going back and forth. This way, I get it delivered right to my door.

I think they should have waited and given it more time. I think it was only really offered for maybe a month or two at the most. They should have hyped it up more.

StampinHappyInCT 10-19-2004 04:40 PM

This explains why my check from July hasn't cleared yet and I haven't received a copy of the magazine.

I wish they'd just return my check with some sort of letter of explanation.

hockeymom 10-19-2004 05:53 PM

return

Sue, I think that is what they said they were going to do.
The guy I talked to said it would be next month.

Stamp It

lbuanas~ OMG! Is your avatar really doing that? Hilarious!

Kerry D-C 10-21-2004 08:36 AM

You know what? Someone at Papercrafts dropped the ball with this. I had remembered getting a post card about getting it as a subscription, but I could not find my postcard, so I went online to order the subscription. I couldn't find it, so I emailed customer service...they emailed me back saying I could order at this link....but she gave me a link to order the papercrafts mag subscription. so I emailed back and said I already get paper crafts that I wanted to Order STAMP It. another email with a link to pre-order the single Stamp It! So I emailed again saying I wanted a yearly subscriptiona and they emailed me with the single link again! I mean, how could they know if there was enough interest if we can't even order it!?!? LOL! :x I finally gave up.

hockeymom 10-21-2004 11:28 AM

stamp it

Kerry, You have a lot of patients to keep emailing Papercrafts.

I just now got the Papercrafts newsletter, showing the new
Stamp It on the newstands.
I have a suggestion, if they don't seem to have enough interest
in subscriptions, how about rolling the whole magazine into the Papercrafts so we get bigger issues?

Kim

Shonac 10-21-2004 11:35 AM

Now there's an idea!! :)

AZMommy 10-21-2004 11:49 AM

That's a bummer - I'd sent in a subscription, but I think I asked to be billed too. Just went to the website via the link posted in previous post in this thread. They have a deal now where if you order $30 you get free shipping. Since I had just discovered Stamp It, I ordered all the back issues, the new winter one and one called 'Cards'. It was nice to find the old issues and free shipping to boot!

Kerry D-C 10-21-2004 01:39 PM

Tracy, you're too funny! Ordering all of them! It is a good magazine! Worth the $$$$

I am bummed about the non subscription thing though.

I always look forward to it. :D

NIKI 10-21-2004 02:17 PM

I too paid for a Stamp It magazine subscription and e mailed when it didn't come. After several e mails about the wrong subject finally someone wrote me and explained that they would not offer subscriptions. What they did was extend my Papercraft subscription without my permission. I don't like them doing that without letting me know. This company sounds flaky to me. Boo Hiss.

stiegelmeierk 10-21-2004 02:26 PM

When I purchased my issue today there were several "cards" inside offering a subscription to Stamp It!. Don't they even know they don't offer this magazine as a subscription. I don't get how such a great magazine can be run by people with such bad business sense! UGGGH.

Ang517 10-28-2004 11:04 AM

UGH! I'm with you ALL! When I first saw this thread I emailed them right away. I sent in the Stamp It! subscription card as soon as I saw it in my PaperCrafts back in JULY! I even followed up with them a few weeks ago and they didn't say anything about NOT offering it anymore. It's not easy to find around here. I end up stalking my grocery store of all places. I've been lucky getting my hands on the last few issues. So when they just got back to me today with the news of no subscription I wrote back complaining that I had recommend it to so many people over the last few months and how it's sold out at my store so they should send me a complimentary issue! LOL We'll see what happens.

I DEFINITELY think they should just kill Stamp It! And make PaperCrafts a monthly magazine, adding all the content together.

Grrrr, ARgh! LOL

Alaskastamper 10-28-2004 12:48 PM

Ok Ladies,

I got my refund check from Stamp It today. Didn't take too long.

Stefanie 10-28-2004 01:03 PM

Niki,
I had the same problem 4 years ago. A wonderful cross stitch magazine when out of business. I had just renewed my subscription for a 3 year term. They sent me a letter telling me I could pick out of about 6 other publications of which only one was a craft magazine. I got it and it was horrible. I immediately called them and they said they could only send me one of the other subscriptions. The choices were very slim and because of the difference in price, I am now getting Better Homes and Garden until 2008 !! :x I don't even like that magazine enough waste my stamping time on it so it always goes to my neighbor.

I sure would like to know how they can get away with that. I should have been able to get a refund. The cross stitch subscription that I paid for was almost $100. And to top it off, my niece was their art director and she didn't even know that they were closing until a week before. Go figure !

I'm more careful now and I don't subscribe for more than a year at a time.

That happened to me when "Rosie" went out of biz. My Aunt had just gotten me a gift subscription so they just switched me to Ladies Home Journal. It's an OK mag, but I really don't read it much. I'd rather my Aunt got her money back, but they didn't give us that option.

palmettostate 10-28-2004 02:02 PM

I received my refund for Stamp It

I received my refund first of the week. It was my original check. They never cashed it. Check your bank account and see if your payment cleared. That may give you some info.

I wish there was enough interest. The other thing I thought about was that I would pay more $$ for my Papercrafts subscription if the Stamp It special issues were included. That way they would be guaranteed a minimum number of issues through subscriptions.

palmettostate 10-28-2004 02:08 PM

also ....

Isn't Papercrafts published by the same company as Creating Keepsakes :?: If so, I am sure everyone will receive their refund in due time -- or their order correction. I would ask them to not extend my sub. if that wasn't what you wanted.

I am guessing that it was a recent decision to not allow subscriptions, and that the sub info in the current mag was already printed and on the way to stores.

I haven't found a copy near me yet ... I am diligently searching. If I can't find it I will have to order online, but I don't want to pay additional shipping costs.
