I get Walmart gift cards at work as prizes, and I've been tossing them into a jar to let them accumulate. Today I went looking at craft crap online, and lo & behold! Walmart has tons of Spellbinders & JustRite and other good things. They used to have a very limited selection of Nesties, but they have pages and pages and pages now. I bought the Poinsettia dies, Smooch Glitz in firecracker, and JustRite Deck The Halls & Holiday Cheer stamps. Free ship to local store, where I can just pick them up.
So, just a heads up to you other crafters- Walmart has a BUNCH of stuff online that you'll never see in their stores! Happy shopping!!!
Yes, we need to share the news about Walmart online. I've bought lots of things there, from craft supplies to big screen TV's. And the free ship to your local store works very well.
Also, I check in at Overstock.com quite a bit. They have stamps, etc. too, and their shipping is only $2.99 no matter how much you order. I get emails from them sometimes with Free shipping for a limited time, too.

Thank you for reminding me about Walmart on line. After reading this, I went on line to see if they had the WRMK envelope punch board and guess what? They did. I have been lusting after this since it first appeared and have yet to find it. Great price and it will be here soon. Thanks again!
Wal-Mart even has ship to the store so that even saves on the shipping cost..

For those of us with mobility challenges, those who want to save time driving, gas money, frustration, PARKING SPACES, long lines, etc etc etc, lots of comparison shopping - we shop online, especially when there is free shipping and 50% off sales {angelic singing in background now}. My fav online craft stores: Joann's, Oozak (best Copic prices all the time), Consumer Crafts (for mega savings on embossing folders), Blitsy if you are fast on the trigger (or keyboard).
Just spent $15 for 3 Smash books that I'm making cookbooks out of. Ordered on Wednesday evening and I got a reply 5 minutes later that they were ready for pick up!
I too like Wal-Mart's ship to store for free service. However, I have 2 warnings:
1) Delivery time may be slow. They put your package on the first truck headed in your direction. So depending on where the item originated and where you live, your package may have stopped at half a dozen Wal-mart stores on its journey. So if speedy delivery time is important to you, this may not be your best option.
2) If you want to return the item, you can take it to any store. However, Wal-mart does not make it easy for their Customer Service reps to process the return. They have to jump through all sorts of hoops to do so. Tell them up front that you ordered the item online. That might save them (and you) 5 minutes of hoop jumping time.
Walmart online is the only online shopping I do. As the OP said, you can use a gift card and if you ship it to the store, you don't even need to give your name and address. They just send you an email when it arrives and you go pick it up...free of shipping charges! If you have it shipped to your house, then of course you would need to give more info, but I go to Walmart so often that it just doesn't make sense to have it shipped to my house, even if shipping is cheap. I love that they have much more available online than they do in the stores. AND you can reload that gift card to do more shopping if you want! You can also choose an alternate person to pick it up. You must show ID when you pick it up.
I am starting to live for WalMart online. The prices are amazing. I saw they are carrying Tim's Distress reinker's now.
I live out in the boonies now. It feels like that, lol. I don't have close access to my craft stores now. The Walmart I shop at now has the most amazing craft department with high end craft items. I was just stunned and so excited. I found out the that some of the WalMarts get in the online merchandise at their store. Another big plus for their online site.
I really use to detest WalMart. I live in WalMart country. Now, I get excited about going every week to find new things. It's more fun that shopping at Michael's.
Our Walmart stores around here have a very pitiful craft section. I think the only name brand I ever see in the store is the Xyron machine. Other than that, everything else they carry is not helpful to me. That's why I was so happy when I found online Walmart site to store shopping!
I would not thought Walmart was great with our crafts...their stores are so very limited ...so thank you for telling us and off to spend money......which is sooooooo much fun...unless you ask my husband...giggle..
I don't remember. I will dig up my paperwork from last order and see what it says.
when it arrives they give you a pickup date that it must be picked up by. It appears to be 2 weeks from an old email I found. My email was dated November 29 and my pickup date was December 13th.
There's ALL SORTS of stuff on their website that's not in their stores. Free shipping on $50, if I'm a little under $50 I just add some socks or some other staple. If you do Ebates, Walmart is also a participating web store!

Thanks for that info! I can make it to WM within two weeks!
Even though Walmart has a lot of stuff online....you still have to watch their prices. for instance there are some spellbinder dies that are $10 cheaper each on joann.com (on sale) than on walmart.com.
What you really need to watch is the seller- there are other sellers than Walmart offering items through their site. Places like Unbeatable Sales and Wayfair are over-priced and have too much shipping. I only buy items actually offered BY
Walmart themselves.
contrapat....absolutely right you are. For example, stickers from Elizabeth Crafts that usually sell for $1.99 a sheet are up at $12.00 a sheet on Walmarts site....sold by none other than Unbeatablesales. I sent Walmart an email about it and their response was ridiculous...."we don't price compare with other websites". I pointed out that the price gouging is happening on THEIR site. I just don't get it.
Along the same lines, I heard about someone who shopped at the actual store and didn't check his receipt. When he got home, he saw that he was given $20 cash back from his Discover card. He didn't ask for it and he didn't really get it. Apparently the clerk hit the cash back button and pocketed the cash. Remember to always check the receipt (which I know I am guilty of just signing and going without double checking!).

I havent read back all of the threads, sorry :( BUT, I placed orders online from Black Friday & Cyber Monday Sales and ordered those items thru Walmart online with Free ship to store, Going to pick-up tomorrow WE WILL SEE HOW GOOD THEIR PRICE MATCHING IS.... I kept the ad's so we will see? If they don't match then I just won't "pick-up". I'll post back to let ya know....
BTW....I DO HATE giving my money to Walmart and do shop locally as much as possible BUT with the yearly sales and my unavailability to make every store for the sales....I tried this?

After I read about all this ordering on line with WalMart, I decided to check it out. Found out they carry everything; caskets and urns. Had a good laugh as I could see buying it and having in spare bedroom for when needed. Can you imagine the look on a guest face? LOL

Yes, they do have everything. My daughter and I joke that if Walmart doesn't have it, you don't need it!

I remember a couple of years ago when I found caskets on WalMart's site I freaked out, lol. That was so creepy. You know vampires need to shop online too, I guess.
What was so creepy about it. I was looking for beds and the caskets came up.

That can't actually happen. Each customer either selects "yes" or "no" on the card reader, and then has to answer if they're sure they want cash back. There is no way for the cashier to select cash back on the terminal. Jumping to the conclusion that the cashier pocketed the cash is pretty far-fetched. I'm not trying to be rude, but come on.
I don't know how the credit card/cash back thing works at other stores but I work for Walmart as a cashier, so I'm pretty well-versed in their systems.
I just found out recently that they have the choice to pay cash. If you choose that option at checkout you will be given a receipt to print and take to Walmart and pay at any cash register. That must be paid for within 48 hours and they they will ship either to site or home. Just make sure you print the whole thing. When I got to the store they needed the "action code" which had been cut off by my printer. Luckily for me I had the email on my phone and found it. I think they still could have taken my payment but I would have had to go to the courtesy desk.
