Soldiers Need Valentine's Cards
 

Hello Ladies - My husband's military company is currently deployed to Iraq & Afghanistan. Before the holidays, another member set up a hand made Christmas Card drive. She received so many that 3 different companies of soldiers from different areas received Christmas cards. The response I recieved from the guys was fantastic. They were so thankful that complete strangers sent their love & well wishes. It really did make a huge difference in their holiday season. So, I've decided to do it again for St. Valentine's Day.

1) I ask that the cards be homemade.

2) That you sign the inside of them. (If you would like, Include your address somewhere on the card, some soldiers send thank yous)

3) Please DO NOT seal the envelopes. I try & put something small in with each card.

If you would like to participate, send me a PM, so I can put you on my list. If you have a church group or Girl Scout troop, I welcome their participation. The guys love getting cards from children since many are without their own for long periods of time. At Christmas, some members asked if they could help with postage. So, if you're interested, just place stamps in a ziplock bag & mail them to me.

Once I get the cards, I will personalize each envelope. I think it makes the soldiers feel a little more special getting something with his/her name on it. The cards will be boxed up & sent to the company.

Also, if any of you would like cards sent to a soldier or his company, please PM their info & I'll make sure they are sent well wishes.

I've added my address in the original post. Can't wait to start receiving cards. I love to see all of your talent. I've had a lot of members PM me & are going to participate. Some have asked if they can send blank all occasion cards, birthday, etc. Please feel free. The soldiers don't have much to choose from to send home.

I sent my package of cards out to you yesterday. Should be arriving soon! Glad I could participate.

Hi... I send cards each month to Keith at www.angelstampersforsoldiers.com ~ I sent out 78 Valentine's Day cards last week... and still have some stamped images leftover. I put together 4 cards this morning.. if you need some more Valentine's Day cards, I could put some more together for you.. just let me know how many you need and I'll see what I can do..

Both of my brothers are currently deployed, one in Iraq and the other in Afghanistan ~ They are both in the 101st Airborne Division "Air Assault"

Sad News
 

I had to wait until the information hit the papers before posting. One of our guys in Afghanistan was hit by an IED. He is currently in a hospital in Houston receiving treatment. www.collinbowen.com You can sign the gusetbook & leave messages for him & his family. There is also an address for his wife & his mom. Please take a minute to pray for him. So I'm sure you understand why I haven't been on the board more. I received 2 packages of cards this last week that were absolutely gorgeous. I will post thank you's in the near future. My hubby has been on leave & will be headed back to Iraq in a few days. So thankful for all of you taking such good care of our soldiers while they are far from home.

Tawnya, did you get my cards yet??? You mentioned that you got a couple pkgs, but didn't say if either were mine...just wondering!!

Kristykins, RachelAM, & Olivia Pratt. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. The cards look so great. Now I know why I'm the one in charge of sending the cards & why I asked others to make them. Your talent is amazing. I know the guys will love them. I showed them to my hubby & he was amazed. He mentioned again how many guys thanked him last time for the cards. My husband is headed back to Iraq in a couple days & he's packing all of them in his suitcase. So, we'll save on postage & the guys will get them even earlier. I am still in need of more cards to make sure that each guy gets one. So anyone who would like to send some to me would be great. And I'll make sure they get to our guys. Thank you again for your support of our troops.

EDIT: Ooops, with getting everything for hubby ready to go, I forgot to put the cards in. LOL More time to receive more cards to send to them.

Sorry for not getting the cards out this past week.. I have had a son home with stomach aches and my husband had Pneumonia.. it's been one of those weeks.. Just want you to get the acknowledgement you deserve. PaperBouquet made 200 (WOW) blank Valentine's Cards. They are really neat. They will be for our guys to send home to their loved ones. Once again thank you to everyone.

New Roster, Soldier Count
 

I just received the updated roster for our troops. We have 163 men serving with my husband. I have about 1/3 rd of what I need so that everyone gets a card. I still have several of you that will be sending me cards, but anyone else that is interested in sending cards, please feel free. Thanks again for all your support.:mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

ATCs are Artist Trading Cards -- they're about the size of a baseball card with the artist's creation on the front and name, etc on the back. Kinda cute. I've got some cards I'll put in the mail for you tomorrow.

I'll try to work on some as well. :)

citykid58 - I just noticed you're next door to my home state of Idaho. I'm in PA now. Thank you so much for sending me the ATC's & yes they will count. Since you are new & might have read in earlier posts, I'll take all blank cards too. It for them to send home to their families. I send each guy a birthday card too, so those would be great. Actually, anything you want to donate to the cause will be well received & appreciated.

Oh my gosh! You must have me mixed up with someone else, I made signed cards for the troops, no where near 200!

Hi Tawyna... I had a handful of cards that I got signed, I did find some reg. envelopes and I stamped a valentine's stamp on them and they are all going out today.. sorry I didn't have more.. I sent nearly 100 to the guy who sends cards to troops, and I had a bunch of swaps I had joined, and am working on next months cards for troops too.. plus family being sick.. I wish I had more to send to you.. bless you and your family and all those that your husband serves with.

Hello to all you Military Supporters.
I just want to take a minute to thank all of you who send cards to our women and men in the Military!!! It means so much to the troops to recieve any kind of mail. I know my DH really appreciated getting mail like that on his tours of duty. Semper Fi and God Bless

Hi Tawnya, I sent mine out to you on Monday, by 2 day mail. Hope you have it by Thurs or Friday. If I make birthday cards would you like some of those also. Sorry I didn't get more made. I have been putting in allot of overtime at work and come home dead tired. Let me know what type of cards you would like next.
