I COPIED AND PASTED THE MESSAGE
I am taking this opportunity to tell you all that I am retiring, and that I will be closing the doors to AbsolutelyEverything on Saturday, November 14.
I suppose this falls into the "good news, bad news" category, depending on your point of view. I am very happy to be retiring, after nineteen years at the store, and I am looking forward to discovering what my next act will be, after a bit of down time. On the other hand, it has been a complete delight for me to have the store to come to, and run, along with my great staff, and I will sorely miss all my fun interactions with all of you, my customers.
(I am not ill in any way at all...let's just say I will be glad to have time to get more exercise and that will make me very happy.)
In terms of the inventory reduction, those plans will be coming soon. The store is quite full with all sorts of new items..and the best time to grab them is now. I hope you all will take advantage of this next six weeks to visit and stock up on your basic necessities, and check out the new papers and stamps we have.
If there is something you would like to see me demo, now is the time. If you can call ahead, I will be happy to prepare small demos and answer all your questions about the products we sell.
Going forward, it may be that AbsolutelyEverything will find a niche as an online store, or even run some events. (I am pretty sure I can get Dina Wakley to show up for a special weekend.) I am also planning on sending out newsletters every now and then, as I have things to tell you about, in case I have a few samples to show, or a product to tell you about. (You may remove yourself from this list by going to the bottom of the newsletter and following the instructions.)
I have come to know and truly enjoy so many of you who have been frequent supporters and shoppers, and that is what I will truly miss the most. It is my greatest hope that all of you who know me will come by (many times) to say hello and good-bye. One can never have too many hugs.
Speaking for myself and my staff, I know we have shared, over the years, many life events, happy, sad, and challenging ones. This sharing has made us all the richer for it, and enlarged our hearts in the process. Thank you for being part of our lives and for inviting us into your lives. It has been an honor.
Here are some details about the time going forward from today:
1.We will accept returns for store credit only, or replacement, if necessary, through next week, until Saturday, October 10.
2.Marcia's Graphic 45 classes will finish out the year. She will explain it all in the October meeting, but basically, you will pay for the November and December classes at the October class. She will have a kit for both months for you, and then she will e-mail the instructions each month. You will be able to e-mail her with questions.
3.Classes will continue as scheduled, and Saturday's "Golden" Holiday Memories" will definitely be happening here at the store. I may even have an extra class to schedule. Watch the newsletter.
4. Anyone with a gift certificate, and/or an outstanding credit in their account has until the end of October to use it up.
5.The Ranger "Color-of-the-Month" will also finish out the year. Anyone who wants to continue for November and December can make payments for those months at the time we call you for the October payment. We will mail everyone the full set as soon as we get it. Terri is helping me with this, so it will definitely happen! We need the final count at the October phone call, as we are unable to do add-ons later on.
6.We are no longer using the six-box card system.
7. The final "Bag Lady" day will happen on Saturday, October 31. Terri has a great "Crazy Bird" seasonal class that day...make it a two-fer!! The bags for Bag Lady day are sold here at the store (It is a specific bag!) Cost is $5 every day, but purchasing on the actual Bag-Lady-day brings the cost to $7. We have two bags left, and depending on your purchases, it may very well be worth it for a one-time use...but then you get to keep the bag--thinking grocery store.
