My Michael's Revamps store!
I went to my Michael's (close to where I work) and although I had seen the empty aisle for the New Martha Stewart previously, I was shocked when I couldn't even recognize the rubber stamp aisle! It was completely reorganzed, they had new stamps in and great new SETS of stamps, they had Tim Holtz supplies and just an overall overhaul to the scrapbooking and rubber stamp area. It was like a beam of light that broke through the clouds and danced merrily on top of the boxes holding all of the secret squirrel stuff (aka Martha Stewart..and I don't even like her!). If bringing her online can help this store get more in line with what we need as stampers, then bring 'er on!!
Just had to share.
Oh...btw....they FINALLY received those cute $1 acrylic stamps! They never even got the first batch but they sure did get the second!
What a nice surprise...
Peace!

I called one Michaels in my city right now and they said they are receiving bits & pieces and have up to 3 weeks to get the store "reset."
I'm on hold with the other Michaels right now... and they are idiots and don't know what's going on.... okay, just kidding, but seriously. I say, "Hi, my name is Jessica and I'm calling to see if you have the new rubber stamping and scrapbooking stock in yet." And I get three girls that say, "Uhhhh I don't know." How do you not know? Aren't you in the store all day everyday? Are there or aren't there new stuff in those aisles! Sheesh...
Okay finally a girl said they don't have it yet. I can't wait to see it!

Wooo Hooo!! Yes indeed, how very excting! You plannin' in great detail your stampin' frenzy when time permits? Just maybe Martha's folks convinced Michael's that stampin' as well as scrapbookin' is HOT now and it's high time to jump! I agree, if it took Martha, then bring her on!! Do you realize what you've done to all the rest of us?? This great news is gonna make our wait for this new transition almost unbearable!
Maybe Michaels has watched the explosion of Archivers too!! This is one city that'd welcome them with open arms and sticky fingers! We lost JoAnn's and AC Moore, still have Hobby Lobby. If they'd just check out all the on-line shopping we do... SOMETHING is lacking at home. These craft stores held us at bay with tight reigns til we found out we can get our stuff online.
Did you splurge today... or are you waiting til Martha arrives? It won't be long now.. yea!!!
Thanks for the heads-up, Stormy <paint me green!>

I noticed that with 2 Michae's stores I've been to in the past week. It lookslike they are changing the whole stamping, scrapbooking section.

it was neat to actually SEE IT! I mean, Tim Holtz inks and stamps pads and alcholol ink stuff. I know they had the distressed inks before but this was new and some of the stamps looked decent! I was like, wow..what a change. It's not even the Martha stuff so who knows. If her stuff is yucky I will be VERY disappointed!! LOL
Yes, I am already gearing up for my buying frenzy. Luckily, I live in an area that doesn't seem to have many stampers and scrapbookers so I rake in all the loot. However, that is also bad because they won't be bringing anything new into the store. I think that in the past six months I have contributed, financially, with a big increase in their rubber stamp and paper sales! LOL Maybe that is why they are getting things in so soon. yeah!

btw..my main complaint is that not all Michael stores are the same. Some stores get stuff, some don't and that is frustrating!

I was at mine today (Knoxville, TN) and they have been resetting for several days. When I arrived today they had reset 75% of the scrapping and stamping stuff and it looked good. They also had the "Martha aisle" ready to go! I'll be interested to see how it all turns out.
And I'll be even happier when they got more of those $1 acrylic stamps in. I bought a few sets just to try them out and I LOVE them!

hahahaha...I'm with ya sistah! I saw one box that said, "Card paper" and I was like, Hmmmmmm.....I guess we will have to wait two weeks to see what is available. The bad thing is that I go on vacation that week! Isn't it bad when you prefer to see what is new in the world of stamping rather than see the world? heehee

Regina Saskatchewan, Canada is cleaning house in the scrapbooking isle. The whole north wall and all but 2 of the far west shelves are been cleaned right out. The gal told me Martha will be here within 2 weeks and so will a whole bunch of new product. "Finally, Michaels you were getting pretty boring"

Haven't been to see at mine store yet but I know it was really getting bad.
We have two new stores(within 10 miles) that just opened a couple of weeks ago. May have to check them out this weekend.

I was in our Micheals here in Matthews yesterday and they were stocking a whole aisle of Cuttlebug and Cricut stuff. They also had this huge announcement thing about the Martha Stewart craft line. I can't wait! They had to get on the ball because Hobby Lobby and AC Moore are all within 1/4 of a mile and they had so much more stuff than Micheals. I'll have to check out the rubber stamp aisle next time I am in.

My Michael's has shifted that part of the store all around and it looks much better. There's some new stuff I've been wanting to check out, too. I wish I had more time to browse yesterday!

NO WONDER my Michael's looks like it's going out of business in the stamping section! I hope they will have more Cuttlebug embossing folders!

I went back in our Micheal's today and they were still stocking new stuff. How exciting. It was badly needed though. They have a whole aisle dedicated to the Cuttlebug and Cricut (with a few Sizzix thing thrown in). They had a bunch of embossing folders with room for a lot more. I am going to check back everyday this week becasue they are getting in new shipments everyday. I am going to use my 40% off coupon to get one.

I checked out mine again (I feel like a stalker! LOL) and they do have new cuttlebug embossing folders!!! They had some new die cuts also. I saw some really cute flowers (like Primas) from Making Memories and it included the brads. I had not seen these before, although they might have been in the mix for a while now and I had not seen them.
I'm just happy that it looks more organized now and they have placed items where they can be seen. Also, they keep putting new stuff up every day it seems so it is exciting just to see it all coming together.
I REALLY hope that the new Martha Stewart line has stamping stuff as well as scrapbooking. Just the paper is making me drool and I haven't seen it. I was reaching up to one of the boxes and making a "gimme" sign like a two year old and one lady just laughed and said, "yeah...me too!" Craziness!!

I was in my Mike's last week in Westbury and they have reset the whole section. It looks really nice but it will look nicer once they get all of the holes filled in with merchandise.

Michaels makeover
Glad I decided to read this announcement. I was in our Michaels today and noticed all the stamps out in the aisles. Lots of sales and thought they were just getting out of the "stamp" business. We have a new JoAnns and a nice Hobby Lobby here, so I thought maybe they were giving up on stampers. I hadn't heard anything about "Martha", so I will be looking forward to find out what is in store for us....Phyl

I must have the worst M's around! They had nothing, making room for stuff. but nothing new. I asked when they would be getting stuff in and the told me the end of the month. I also asked the manager if he could order some scalloped punches...they have the giga Square scalloped punch, wouldn't it stand to reason that they could also get the oval and circle? He told me he has no control over that, that stock is controlled by headquaters. I don't understand that at all! oh well, just a little venting here... I was so disappointed that I couldn't spend dh $$$ that I gave away my coupons to a lady in line. At least she found something to purchase and was excited about it. LOL

Sorry to here about your "M" store. My daugther works for one them and she has share with me that they a several new goodies coming in this month. All the store have to put the product up around the same time. It's actually very exciting to here her talk about all the new things coming to "M". Making Memories and Martha Stewart are two of the new lines. It's very very exciting. Definitely something to look foward to.

My Michaels is getting ready...should be done by Tues. I think the salespeople were just as excited putting new stuff out as I was at seeing it. They were probably bored with the same old stuff for so long. Can't wait for the CB new folders. They told me they will be just one of many new things to look for. I also have a new HL and Joann's nearby, so I'm sure some bigwig from corporate finally figured out that they're no longer the only craft store in town. BTW, my DH says I should buy stock in all 3 considering how much I spend at them. Gotta look into this.

Oh my gosh! I saw some of them! They were in baskets and not really "out" in the aisles yet. I think a clerk was working on them and I just stormed the area and started digging in boxes. Nothing was priced, of course but the clerk was nice enough to let me see it before she put it out. Some of them were big Prima-like flowers with brads that had different designs on them (color coordinated with the flowers). I believe you could get 5 flowers with five different patterned brads. They had lilac, yellow, blue, and ivory.
Sigh...I think they already know me by name! LOL
BTW..if you have read some of my other posts, I was Michael's biggest critic because they never had anything in stock (at least mine didn't) but now even the clerks are excited about everything coming in!

MM is the brand Making Memories. Michael's is stocking up their stores with that brand of embellishments so keep a look out. Since I vowed not to buy anything until I use the supplies I have, I'll just have to go to the store and take a big whiff of whatever is there! I'll have my head on the Martha Stewart paper droolin'

I have to wonder just how much money Micheals is losing by having all their stores with empty aisles for weeks waiting for this "launch" of MS. I think it is a load of malarky and think the business side of it is poor planning. Empty aisles for weeks on end is not a good business practice at all.
