If you have an Xpedx near you, the Neenah White range in the 80lb is on sale right now. If I remember correctly, the sales guy said the Solar White, Avalanche, and Brilliant White were on sale. I had him price the 110lb, and unfortunatley it was not on sale.
I got a 250 sheet ream of the Neenah Solar White Crest, Smooth 80lb for $17.29.
Which weight is better for Copics? I guess the 110# would be, but is there is big difference between the two for using Copics?
I think they are the same coating - its just one is heavier. I tend to go for 80# in most cardstock to stamp on because I at least layer my image onto the card and sometimes there is another layer or two as well.
I like them both. The one difference I noticed is if you lay down a lot of color and blender, there's more chance of feathering and bleeding with the 80lb. I think the 110lb soaks in the color better. But, I feel it's slightly more difficult to blend on.
So, I make adjustments depending on what paper I am working with.
HTH!
Neenah is an excellent quality, bright white cardstock with a matte finish. It is one of the recommended papers for use with Copic markers, and has a heavier 'body' that SU WW. ;)
I also read somewhere (I think it was the ilikemarkers blog) that the SU is designed for the SU water based markers. And, not as ideal for Copic which is alcohol based.
That being said, I have used my SU just fine with my Copics. The one difference is, it's not as easy to blend colors, and my blending pen really doesn't perform as well. If I am doing a quick/easy coloring, where I'm not worried about blending, I use my SU.
I just got back and because I was indecisive I bought a little bit of everything. I came home with 2 reams of 80lb, 1 ream of 110#, and a box of linen envelopes. I think I'm set for awhile! :-D Thanks for the heads up!

LOL Yeah I went this am and bought with a friend 2 packs of 80lb, 3 boxes of a2 envelopes, a box of smaller envelopes, and a ream of photo paper to make custom size envelopes! The staff was EXTREMELY helpful and gave us some goodies too!

So I'm sure I'm going to be sorry I asked, but what size were the smaller envies you got? And photo paper for custom envies? Do you print on them (well, duh, I guess you would)?
I really don't need to know the answer, but please tell me!

Good thing the sale goes to the end of the month, because I'm already planning another shopping trip. Those envies sound cool!
Yes, the staff at the San Diego Xpedx is awesome!! And, they give great samples!
LOL Well on the smaller envies its the size to fit 3 1/2 x 5 " cards On the photo paper.. Lauren Meader did a video tutorial where she like to make different size cards but then needs an envelope to fit, so she makes them out of printworks matte finish. I looked high and low for that paper but its a good thing I never found it because the paper I found was sooooo much cheaper. It is the same thickness and has a matte finish too, so it works the same!! I wont be printing on them but I will stamp on them
I like the 3.5" x 5" size too...hmmm.... I'll have to check out Lauren's video to see what she did with it. Stamping on photo paper...sounds interesting! :-D

I was thinking the same thing. The gentleman at my store was also wonderful and even brought out my box full of stuff for me...with a smile.
Girl, you're going to get me in trouble! LOL! DH comes home tomorrow and I can see him now, shaking his head at the amount of money I've spent on card stock and envelopes. I love it.
Wow, it has been quite a while since I stocked up but this seems like a huge savings...does anyone remember the regular price of the 80lb.? I was thinking it was around $30-ish...is that right?

It was $29 and change. I used to order from Paper-Matters the Beckett Expressions card stock, it was a perfect match for SU's WW. Their price was $17 for a ream of 250 (shipping was @ $10), but their site has been under construction for a long time so I don't know if it will come back.
Since I mainly use Copics now, I'm glad I was able to get the same price for the Neenah...and I was able to pick it up instead of paying for shipping.
Hi..Shelly..I can't believe we meet again. I have been looking in the Chicago area and you are the one whoo gives me the source to find this paper..... So funny...I'm going to today to buy some...I use my Copics ALL the time. I'm going to stamp something for you to color..Watch your mail... Grammy of two...

You are always so sweet to me...what did I do to deserve such a thoughtful friend? You know...I could always pick you some up...and we could meet at GinaK's store to exchange it! LOL!

LOL Yeah dh was home when I came home with all my stuff but of course didnt say anything:mrgreen:
Do you know the regular price for the neenah 80lb not on sale? I am wondering what he difference was.

The 80lb was $29 & change. The 110lb wasn't on sale and that was $41.99...which is still a decent price per sheet. I have been using PTI's White Stamper's Select and was on my last pack so either way I was going to need more.
That being said, I did order 2 packs of GinaK's card stock, I love the idea of my Copics not bleeding through for my no layer cards.

Yeah, I'm thinking it's a sickness! LOL! The guy at Xpedx said they rarely see it on sale. I have no idea how often they have it, but it's not a bad idea to stock up, right?

Here you go You have to watch the entire video to see where she talks about using the printworks photo paper for the envelopes. I could never find the paper so I bought some at Xpedx for much less!!

It is.. Mohawk 50/10 Matte blue white 100 text weight 500 sheets is the ream for $14 something..
Its going to take forever to use up 500 sheets but.. hey it was much cheaper than the 25 sheets of printworks for $6
Oh goodness...that dancin' smiley is so funny! Just about made me spew German Chocolate Cake (coffee) all over my screen!
Now THAT is a good deal! I was going back and forth on whether or not I'd go back. But since you gave in to my plea to answer my question many moons ago, I will be going back. That tutorial was too cute!

German Choco Cake is Timothy's. Love that stuff, I just placed another order this morning! Try it with whipped cream, YUMMM-O.
Oh, that's right it's Timothy's! Love that one!
I have the Keurig, so I've tried a ton of the flavored coffees.

They ALL taste better with whipped cream! ;)
Okay, so I made my 2nd trip today...found the 3.5x5 envies and the photo paper. I really like the feel of the photo paper, it's perfect for making envies.
Jennifer, love those two smilies...the devious one cracked me up. Hopefully you don't find any more cool things to buy...LOL! I should technically be crafting for the rest of my life with all the card stock and envies I've bought!
And yes, Randi, they do all taste better with whipped cream! I am sipping an iced coffee right now...made of course, with my trusty Keurig.
