I used 3 coupons at Michael's
I have only ever been able to use one coupon at Michael's until tonight. For some reason I asked, and she said they take up to 3 per transaction. Is this a new thing thing that will stay around? Does anyone know? I wish I had turned around and looked for more stuff!!!

Lucky you!
AC Moore used to accept more than one, but I've never known Michael's to.
Good for you!

interesting, but I'm confused, how do you have more then one coupon for Micheals, they don't take other competitors unless it's for the specific item stated in their ad. I have had the most complaints with them, because I would have to drive 15 miles to get one of their local newspapers or buy an
out-of-town sunday paper to get a coupon. Now if you know there was a
coupon in the paper, and you don't have one, you can get one discount at the desk, by giving them your zip code.

Wow! and I was just there using my 50% off coupon tonight. Now I'm sorry I didn't ask because I have a 40% off coupon out of the same ad. Thanks for letting us know.

She said they take up to 3 coupons from competitors. She said it like it was old news, but it was news to me. I used 1 Michael's, 1 Joann's and 1 AC Moore. She had a huge basket of competitors coupons on the register. The cashier even took one out of the basket for hte customer behind me because she only had the 50% Michael's coupon. I hope she is there every time I go!

I was just at Michael's and I used my 50% off from Sunday's paper and I had another 50% off from a mail out. They let me use both but I had to do two seperate purchases.

wow! that is amazing...I run into such a scrutiny just to use a coupon at the one I go to! It always seems like such a hassle...
Each store must have their own policy(?) nevertheless I love coupons!

I work at Michaels here on Long Island. Technically, we're only to take one coupon per shopping visit. We're allowed to accept ACM coupons, only one. It doesn't have to be on a specific item, just not on sale. Your cashier was generous to allow you to use 3 coupons. There is an exception log that can be signed with your name and zip and they'll allow you to use a coupon. The 50% coupon is for Sun and Mon and Tuesday thru Sat is the 40%- they can't be used together. Debbie

Last time I went to Michael's I took 3 Joann's coupons and a Michael's coupon. My coupons were mine, my mom's and my neighbor's, (we live nearly 2 hours away) and I also had a Michael's coupon from the paper. I bought a cuttlebug for 50% off and then used the other 3- 40% off coupons for dies. I just had to do 4 seperate transactions. The cashier didn't want to sell me the cuttlebug at first with a couplon, but I told her it wasn't a cricut product, it was a provo craft product made by the same people as the cricut. She called her manager and then everything went very smoothly.
It was really nice that they were so nice after we drove so far just to come to th eir store. I wish we had one closer....maybe not, I'd really be paper crafting broke!!!!

The closest Micheal's to us (3 hrs away) does not accept that you can sign your name/zip, you must have the coupon

yOU KNOW, i USED ONE AND MY DAUGHTER HAD ONE BEHIND ME (SHE IS 10) and the lady was quite ignorant to us about it. My sister was with us and the lady was saying how it was not the purpose of the coupon and my sister outright asked if the lady was saying that Taylor was not a paying customer and she said yes! I certainly couldn't use 2...

A friend told me she gets Michael's coupons mailed to her through regular mail. I never heard of this. Anyone else get coupons this way, and, if so, how can I get these?

I get coupons in the mail but it is just their weekly ad. They mail it instead of putting it in the paper up here.

I usually make my husband go along if I have 2 coupons. They ring mine up and I turn around and give him the bank card to use for his purchase. They have to know that people do this - it is kind of ridiculous that they don't just let you use the coupons on the same transaction.
I've also used a coupon, gone out of the store, put that purchase in the car, walked back in, gotten something else, went to a different cashier and used a different coupon.

Just wanted to let you all know, I went back today with more coupons. A different cashier let me use 3 more within one transaction (I have wonderful neighbors who share their coupons with me). I asked if this was a policy everywhere, and the cashier said in Rochester it is supposed to be. I hope it catches on where all the rest of you live!

huh, never been able to do that either!
I use two all the time. I just buy stuff, then go back through the line again and use the second. NEver looked at me twice about it either. I have also had my 6 yo use one and they didn't care about that either.

my six year old uses the coupon, to buy stuff with her own money to use on her own scrapping. Since I am there and buying and have a coupon too. I pay separately and then she does. Some sales clerks have been very rude to her. NOT NICE.

they won't take JoAnn's coupons if they are printed from your computer from an email promo. But, they will take one of their own and a J's. What do they care?! It's not their store, they only work there. Don't be bothered by their rudeness.

Another question- the last time I went to Michaels with the in store JoAnn's coupon that they send you in an e-mail. I tried to use it at Michaels (as I always did when I lived in PA) and they wouldn't let me use it this Michaels. They said they only accepted the coupon in the mailed flyers of Joann's. Does your Michaels accept the printed out coupons?

My Joanns was not nice today
My Joanns will not accept Michaels coupons. The little snip said it is up to the managers descretion and they dont do it. Well I have seen the manager so I really am not surprised!

My Michaels only takes one coupon at a time unless they are for different percentages (ie if one is for 40% and the other is for 50%) other than that, they only take one per transaction. Some times, they will let me purchase two separate times and then they will honor both coupons. The same with our Joanne's store as well.

I was in Michaels on Long Island on Sunday and I used my 2 50% off coupons, in 2 separate transactions and I overheard the cashier say to the person infront of me that they no longer accept AC Moore coupons. Michaels need to get their policies straight. I don't understand why they have coupons if they give their loyal customers using them such a hard time!!!!

This last Monday, I used my Michael's coupon and a Joann's coupon. They will also take Hobby Lobby's coupons. I have used all three on one order - separate items. My Michael's will also just let you "ask" for the coupon of the week if you don't have it from the newspaper.
I get the coupons in the mail every so often and they usually include a framing coupon, too. I think I receive them because I've had something framed at the store.

Michaels.... ugggg.. love the store but hate the coupon thing. I live in St. Louis, we have at least 3 Michaels that I know of within 5 miles from my house... but yet the paper at the grocery store down the street never carries the Michael's ad. I have to drive to the nearest Michaels, and go to a grocery store near them to buy a paper!!! Sorry to hijack the thread there, just needed to rant a little.
I do like that they accept HL coupons, probably JoAnns too, but I haven't tried.
I tried to sign up for the ad mailing, but so far haven't received anything in the mail. Probably a good thing since I am not supposed to be buying anything right now...

The Michaels near us does take AC Moore's coupons (for anything) and since I get the AC Moore coupons in email I can print out multiple. But I never tried to use more than one at Michael's so it is news to me.

At my Michael's in NJ, you have to have the paper coupon and you can't use more than one at one time. They don't stop you from getting back in line tho.

My Michaels will take up to three coupons, too. It started about a week ago. They all have to be different coupons, but you can only use two competitors. This was a great week -- Michaels, Joann, and AC Moore all had coupons in the paper on Sunday!

That would be illegal (sp?) for them to deny the 10 year as a paying customer. The coupon does not say one per family. I would call the manager and threaten that you will have a lawyer contact them if they do that again. I love M's coupon's but that is just wrong.
I go to M's all the time. I have 5 little ones and my mom will go with me too. We get coupons from family and neighbors too. I will have like 4 or 5 coupons and they have been nice as can be to my kids. Sometimes they do not even care, they just have me sign for using a competitor coupon and they give me the change back too, even though it was my kids paying. My J's is super nice too. I think they almost have to be b/c J's and M's are within walking distance of each other and HL is right in between them. HL on the other hand is no where near as nice and M's and J's so I hardly ever go there, some of the people at HL act like they have better things to do than help a customer! I have to say I love M's and J's!!!

That sounds wonderful. I have avoided Michaels lately because
the coupon redemption was a pain. I'll have to start watching again.

Same here in Canada...you used to be able to go in and say "I forgot my coupon" but now they are really picky (and some are nasty) and you HAVE to have the coupon! They say they lose money that way.....hmmmmm!!! Doubt Michaels will ever "lose" money!!!

I'm in Milwaukee and I also was able to use 3 coupons at Michaels. They even let me use my preferred JoAnn's coupon that was a first. But watch the prices I have notest Michaels prices are higher with somethings. That is most likely why we can use more coupons.

My Michaels let's me do numerous transactions if the coupons are all Michaels. However, if I have a JOanne's, Hobby Lobby and one of theirs, it can be one transaction as they are all different coupons. Joanne's will do the same thing but they must all be different coupons. I used three the other night in one transaction - HL, Joanne's and Michaels. It's awesome, plus all the papercrafting supplies are 40% right now.

I had three 50% off coupons from Joanns, and I got to use all three, just had to do three separate transactions. I bought a Cuttlebug and 2 embossing folders, all for 50% off! As for getting a discount at Michaels without a coupon, I have asked in the past and they never offer one, just say I need to watch the paper for the coupon, so I hardly ever have a Michaels coupon.

You guys are very lucky to be using your coupons for the cuttlebugs!!!!
Around here it's stated on the coupons that they are not to be used for Cuttlebugs/ Die cuts or certain sewing machines..
Way to go ladies!!!!!!!!!!!

I've never had a problem using numerous coupons (I go and buy several papers and get them from relatives), but I always have to sign a paper on a clipboard so they know that it's not just the cashier.
Last year in the fall, my dd's swim team went to West Virginia University for a big meet and there was a Michael's right next to the hotel that we stayed at. The hotel provided free Sunday papers to every room and had several near the elevators on each floor! I got all of the papers from the swim team parents who weren't using them and all out of the lobby that were sitting around. I think that I had 11 coupons and had a nice little shopping spree!!!
