I have to share!!

I finally figured out how to upload my cards and make my member gallery!! Only a few cards on there now and they are not as good of quality as I would like, but I'll learn how to take the pictures better. I'm just so excited. My cards aren't as great as some of the others, but I'm working hard.
Just had to share! Hope you check me out. I don't know how to link yet, so you'll have to look me up.
Thanks to all!!!
Sam

Way to go, Sam. :D

When you are ready to link your new gallery in your signature file, Lynn posted directions in this thread: http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...d.php?t=261753

Hurray for you! Everyone starts out slowly and learns more as they go along, so congratulations on taking the plunge.

Yeah for you, I still have to have my 15 year old daughter do it for me.

A few weeks ago I was on here bragging about my first uploads and it is so much fun to see the comments add up and to get welcomed into the fold. Congratulations and good work. I will go look at your cards and make comments - it is a great ego boost -

Good job, Sam -- nice cards -- keep up the good work!

Thanks for all the encouraging words!! Just one question: Is it better to take a picture with my camera and upload or scan it? Which one seems to give the best quality? I have a 7.0 MP Canon camera and an HP photosmart scanner. Just wondered what everyone else uses and finds successful. I wasn't happy with the clarity of my images.
Thanks
Sam

Congrats on figuring it out. I hope to join you in the gallery soon!

Don't give up on your camera yet. Are you using the macro setting? It's often a button with something like a tulip icon on it, and it's for taking closeups. That setting helps to keep detail shots in focus.

Beate shows a very simple setup that she uses to photograph her cards, and she gets impressive results. Here's a link to a short tutorial on her blog: http://beate.blogs.splitcoaststamper...ting-pictures/

uploading cards

Hmmm. I haven't thought about my camera setting. DUH!!! I try again this weekend with some cards I'm making and see if it works.
I like the tutorial too. It's a good idea to set up a blank area around the cards. I usually end up trying to take them on my table.
Thanks again!!!

Glad to see your gallery.

Welcome and congrats on starting your gallery.

I had all sorts of issues taking pictures of my cards, then my digital camera died, so for now I scan them. But, once I get a new camera, I am going to follow Beate's instructions and see if that doesn't make a difference.

Congratulations on getting your gallery going! I just got mine up not long ago. Check it out if you get the chance. My gallery isn't very big yet either but it's growing. My work seems just O.K. compared to lots of other people but I'm getting so much inspiration on this website.
