A couple weekends ago I discovered a new independent stamp & scrap store in Medina, OH! It's called Bee Scrappy and it's located just off the square.
Great paper selection and some hard to find stamps (like Whiff of Joy). I met the owners and both seem very service oriented and fun! They are trying to carry what the other stores in the area don't (e.g. Archivers) and the prices looked great, esp. on 12x12.
The store is small, but they've packed a lot of yumminess in there, and their classes sound awesome! (Hoping to take a technique class next month.)
I was just there last Friday & looked for that place & couldn't find it! I passed it one day & wanted to stop but was working so I couldn't, & now I can't find it!! Sounds awesome though!
Yes I seen the addy after i posted on here. Thanks so much. Looking forward to going there. Do they sell different markers, nestabilities, Etc.
I don't recall Nesties, but there was a small selection of Copics (Ciao, I think). Also gold, silver, blue and another color (sorry - memory cloud) of Spica Atyou glitter pens.
The other brands I recall:
Whiff of Joy
Magnolia
Sparkle 'N Sprinkle
I'm stopping there Saturday, so I'll try to get a better list. :-D
The store was super cute & the owner was SUPER SUPER nice!!! They had a really nice selection for how small the store is. Plus her prices were reasonable. I definetly will be a regular shopper there.
I had so much fun shopping and talking to the owners, I forgot to make a list! LOL! But I promise, you will not be disappointed. I do know they have some yummy May Arts ribbons, and lots of Stickles and Shimmerz. And they did tell me they ordered all the new Basic Grey released for CHA, which I am super excited about! Can't wait for my next visit!
Thanks for the heads up! I will definitely stop in and check it out the next time I am heading that direction. (I used to teach classes at Rubber Room...before I had kids. I always feel a little happy and a little sad when I drive past where the store was.) I suppose most of you know about Hollo's for buying cardstock, right?!?
Thanks for letting us know. I am from Canada, however, I always take a 6 hr. drive down to Akron to attend the Adventures in Stamping Convention in April. Part of my ritual (LOL) is to go to Hollos and now that I am aware of Bee Scrappy I will have to make a stop there as well.
I popped in again yesterday. Extremely good customer service. No nesties, but a huge selection of Sparkle n Sprinkle embossing powders, glitter, flock, and stamps. She is carrying Memento dew drops, Colorbox cat eyes, Andirondack ink pads, some really different stamps and all sorts of other goodies. They are carrying a huge selection of My Minds' Eye paper, some Jillibean Soup, some Cosmic Cricket, and some mini decks. It is worth the trip. The only draw back is how small the store is, but maybe that will help her stay in business.
I stopped in the other day at lunch, not impressed. I only bought 3 sheets of paper. The dew drops were way overpriced, and looks like they aren't even real dew drops I would say she made them herself. She had very few WOJ stamps, that is what I went in for but didn't like any of them. Probably not worth a special trip but it was cool to check out. OH - & she did have a few nesties for those asking.
I did stop in - although very small, the ladies were super nice and said they would order anything you wanted. I bought a few WOJ stamps.....I was told they turn over inventory quickly and place new orders all the time. Worth going back to IMO!
p.s. One of the owners did say they were going to get somebody in (certified) to teach a COPICS class!

I didn't have an opportunity to go that day. The town was celebrating and it was very crowded for Medina. I think there was an ice festival. I saw a lot of ice carvings displayed around the square. Looked like fun, but I was really cold!

OH, Hollo's has been around for soooo long . . . I grew up in Strongsville and when we were kids, my mom used to take us there--especially in the Summer--to buy paper for papercrafts, etc. (that was about 40 years ago! LOL). They also used to have a store in Cleveland at West 110 and Lorain -- right across from the old Sears store. My dad's business was right around the corner from there and we used to purchase a lot of business supplies (forms, etc.) there. I STILL go to Hollo's to this day for some card stock and envelopes. That place is a treasure!

Wow, they HAVE been around for a long time! It's nice to see a family business thrive. Once a year, my husband takes me to Hollo's to stock up on paper. He asked me once, "Do you think you'll need and hour in there?" LOL Are there any "man" businesses close by for the husband to hang out after you've passed the one hour mark? You gals are lucky to live so close to Hollo's!

it is too bad you did not like the store. I have been in several times and I just love it and I have TONS of supplies at home, however I can always seem to find more there. They carry what other stores around do not, which is wonderful, and in mention about the dew drops, they are the real deal, they are NOT made there and are direct from the seller (I asked) and also, the ones you make yourself have tell tale puddles of color and these do not.
They are a gem of a store packed with all kinds of scrappy and card making goodness!
It's nice to hear of another store to visit! I'm here in Trumbull County, which is east of Medina. It's also so good to know there are other stampers in the general area!
Here in Trumbull County we have a couple places I like to visit: Quilters Fancy (lots of stuff in there!) Hobby Lobby, Michael's, Pat Catans, JoAnns....we did have a Cord Camera but it closed last year. My heart was broken.
I think I will check out what other little gems might be lurking around and post them, for those of you who like a road trip now and then!
I stopped in on Saturday. OMGoodness! They have some fab new stuff including Unity (more on the way, too), Whiffs and the most wonderful papers. I found a little collection of Twilight 12x12 - Vampire and Werewolf. TDF! They also have some great Tim Holtz items. Love it!
