If you think your email has been hacked go directly to your account (not any outside link) and change your password. Never give your information to outside parties. Some links in this thread have been removed.
This was just announced today Sept 10,2014
Millions of Gmail accounts hacked, was yours one of them? -- Fusion

Clicking on links is a risk.
Typing a site name address (i.e. http ... ...) is the safer method. ;)
I've always followed that rule. But how do we know if we find the right address. You can still type in a bad site. That's my concern. When there's a hack, there are always tons of places that pop up saying go here to fix....how do we know which "here" is the correct one? I know you don't have answers, I'm just talking to myself in frustration! LOL
Oh dear! Even knowing better, yesterday, I clicked on the link that was first posted in this thread. :( I received a message that my email was safe.
Later last evening, I received an email from Dashlane about gmail addy's being hacked, but I didn't read it since I had already (supposedly) checked my email addy.
Just a few minutes ago, I went ahead and changed my gmail password. Hopefully no damage was done in the meantime.

If you want some peace of mind, scroll down to the bottom of your inbox. You'll see something that says "last activity 1 minute ago" - click that and it will show you every gmail session on your account and the IP addresses. You probably won't see anything weird there

Stick with the big guys like Mashable, Tech Crunch, Cnet and Kim Komando

Thanks for the tip, I did that and saw only sessions I knew were mine. I did change my password anyway though, now all I have to do is remember it ;)

Thank you, Lydia! That's pretty cool! I checked my account just now, and it's fine.
