Default So Excited! My First Order!

Hi everyone! I'm so excited and my DH just doesn't get as excited as me, so I thought I'd share w/you! A friend of mine was at my house this afternoon and I was showing her some of my creations...just to show her what I was up to. Keep in mind I haven't seen her in a LONG time so she had no idea. She is in the real estate business and started saying, "you're selling these? This is awesome work, I'll take this one and that one...I can use these." WOW!! I now have an order for 4 different sets of cards (6, 3, 3, and 6) and have no idea how to price them. Any ideas? Do I price them seperartly, or as a whole order? Any thoughts you can provide would be great...if not..no biggie, I just wanted to share how excited I am! Thanks for listening!

Congrats to you!!!! I have a hard time with pricing also. Just remember not to sell yourself short. Think about what they would pay going to Halmark & buying them. Use that as a guide. Good luck & happy stamping.

I did holiday bazaar last october and cards were flying at $1 each. Depending on the simplicity of the cards I would say $1.50-$2.00 a card. I think I underestimated my price b/c while I did sell alot of single cards, I offered to do bulk orders and delver by 12/15. I didn't get any at the bazaar, but someone contacted me the next workday and asked for 80!

I would negotiate it with your friend b/4 you make them! The good thing is, even at $1 each - it paid for the supplies and the stamp sets I needed to buy to make the cards (hee-hee!)

congratulations! i know how exciting and complimenting it is to get those first orders. just to give you an idea, i sell mine for $2 a card and get many comments that i don't charge enough (which makes me feel good). and a few cards i charge $2.50 for that involve a lot of cutting and detail work. just stop to think...there's no store you can go to and buy a nice card for $2. and this is handmade artwork that involves time and supplies. i hope things go well for you and happy stamping! -deb
