Cricut will no longer be making cartridges for CTMH?
 

I just ran across this announcement on YouTube. Sorry I don't have the link, but it sounds believable. I went ahead and bought their latest cartridge bundle as this is likely going to be the last. I don't know any ctmh demonstrators so if anyone can verify this please let us know.

From what I've heard, ProvoCraft will no longer be releasing physical Cricut cartridges. Going forward, they will all be digital. I'm not sure how this will impact CTMH, but maybe they will release digital packages. (I'm not a demo.)

Demos received a message from CTMH stating that Provocraft announced their intention to no longer produce cartridges. I took it to mean for everyone, not just for CTMH. They stated that they ordered enough of the newest cartridge to hopefully last through the catalog year.

This truly makes me sad as I am becoming a dinosaur. lol. I do not use a cell phone but, I love my mac. We needed to replace our CD player and found that the new thing is "digital download".

This sounds like horrible news!!!! I like the original cartridges with the whole book included and really really missed the product this way. And now this! I along with my friends are not happy camper's with this news that is for sure! Come on Cricut, let us still get a cartridge that can fit in our hands not just the digital way!

It's sad; companies forget they have a vast array of users, that learn and process in different ways; visual, auditory, tactile. A number of crafters like this hobby to get our hands into it, not just work on a computer. We enjoy looking through a booklet, imagining what we'll make, and how we'll mix and match things. That's not always so easy bouncing back and forth between screens. I sometimes get frustrated and just forget it, closing out. To me, it's a good way to lose customers, which may explain why so many businesses are closing. As much as I like shopping on line for things, there's nothing like going in and trying something on when in doubt, or checking it out!!!!

My friend just gave me her smaller cricut last week. There are three cartridges but nothing I would have bought. Maybe I will find some at yard sales....

Dang this sucks I love my cricut .. though lately I been using lots of dies lol will that go away in the future too? To digital? What happens when the lights and electric goes out? I’m a dinosaur too I like having my stuff trusted to me in my hands just knowing I’ll always have it. Not be retired another way to get prices boosted to unaffordable lol darn and I was still collecting cartridges These big companies don’t care about us lil people they only care about the green paper the evil dollar. With cartridges we get everything what we need and can talk ourselves into not purchasing more . So they don’t make money . Where as if they charge a monthly fee they got it coming in like landlords monthly income lol

I was surprised when CTMH even ventured into the old school technology of cartridges with Cricut in the first place as their popularity has been declining steadily since the Silhouette Cameo and other non-cartridge machines came on the market. Hopefully there will be a better alternative.

There are a lot of companies, not just Cricut, who apparently don't realize that high-speed Internet is not available to everyone. We live just outside the city limits of our town and have SLOW Internet ... it's all but impossible to even watch a You Tube video. So digital download is something that just doesn't work for us. And for the record, we don't live in the middle of nowhere!

Saddest part of having slow net is... we pay just as much as the rich and still we get less in quality. We have the same issue and not just that but how copmanies monopolize everything. We can’t even get tv without subscribing to them. Long ago I recall all it took was a antenna to have basic tv. Not anymore. If there was no DVD players we’d have no use for a tv lol and we be lost touch with the outside . Sad. It’s all about greed is the bottom line .

I think they are chewing their own arms off with this news!

There are many people who don't want to use the digital ones.
I currently own:
1. Personal Cricut
2. Cricut Create
3. Cricut expression 2.

And I've been finding cartridges every once in awhile at Goodwill.
I'm keeping the Expression 2.

I'm giving the personal cricut one to a good friend that doesn't have a lot of money to spend.

I agree with you. And now that they got more versions made I like that the cartridges are more affordable now. And theirs nothing like actually owning the images physically in your hands and craft room. Call ole school but I like hands on!! I own the original cricut that first sold on the 1-800 # and was expensive . I�m fully intending on my money�s worth since it took a lot of saving to get what it cost us . I love dies but I love me cricut then and forever!!

I have a Cricut and about six or seven cartridges and wish I'd never spent the money. It was one of those new items I thought I just had to have. :(

I have the original Baby Bug, an Expression and the Special Anniversary Edition (with the 4 carts downloaded into the circut) and about 30 carts - so I should be okay having pretty much all the images I should ever need. I do find the carts at Tuesday Mornings for under $15.00 but they don't have books and they need a universal key pad. I also have a Cuttlebug and a Slice, and just purchased a Gemini Jr which I LOVE. However, my Expression is my go to machine. I like the idea of being able to resize images, and not have to use a computer (especially since I too am a dinosour and seem to be somewhat technically challenged) I guess it's like all the cell phone technology out there, everything is bound to change. I am just glad I was on the initial band wagon when Cricut came out.. it's been an enjoyable venture !

Anyone know good place online for free cricut class or good place ideal for projects? I have search google and other websites, I wanted projects for for ladies at church. But, I can't find anything cheap enough or any good ideals that I think church ladies would really like wanted? I am look at 30 ladies or more. So this money out of my pocket so that why don't wanted to high in price. Can anyone help me with this? thanks Linda
