Personally, I don't think you ever start being a "newbie" to some extent. There is always something new to learn and try. As far as cards first starting out, I have only been into stamping for about a year (even though I have colelcted stamps longer) so pretty much all of my cards from the beginning are in the gallery. I only own like 3 SU sets...one was given to me and the other two came from a garage sale. Not sure I have ever owned SU paper. Congrats on your accomplishment!
Wow, good for you to have so many Thanksgiving cards done! That's great. I do love Stampin' Up stuff, but I will hunt for and buy a bargain from most anywhere!
Hi, the best advice I could offer to you, is to join in the daily challenges posted on the home page, right side . This is a great way for you to get new ideas and grow your stamping skills. Take a look at my gallery, I have my first cards posted there, you will see a big difference from then to now. It is all from doing the challenges. They really help you to learn and you get great feedback from the other wonderful stampers here! Just keep up the good work! You are on the right track!
Hey Pam! I wouldn't worry too much about being a newb! I looked at your gallery and you are doing just fine!! You don't have to have SU! paper. It is VERY nice, and the longer you work with paper, the more you will notice quality differences. The main thing is to buy what you like, and if you have restraint, what you can afford! Your collection will grow, just as all of ours have.
If you want to see the evolution of a particular stamper, go to their gallery. At the very bottom of the page, there are three sort boxes. If you leave the first two alone and change the third one to ASCENDING, you will see that stamper's work from oldest to newest.
I know some stampers delete their old/ugly stuff, but I leave all mine. It's a record of my journey. I've had fun making all these cards, and that's why I'm still doing it! It's fun for me, and it's a bright spot for the recipients!
luvfrogs,I have thought about joining in on the challenges but they are to confusing, all these titles that they have for the cards I don't know what they are talking about, how do they come up with these names for the card challenges.Last night I made 6 more TG cards I do believe i have enough for my friends now.
