anyone buy Copics from Joann.com?

Just wondering if anyone has every bought these from Joann.com or Joann's stores. They have a 50% off online coupon right now and I've been itching to get some markers. It would be a little over $2/marker with the coupon.

my joann's store doesn't have them. Sounds like an excellent price how much is shipping?

megeallen 03-16-2010 01:05 PM

shipping was $9.95 which puts each marker (36 pc. set) for $2.35

ciao's, sketch, or originals?

jenndspencer 03-16-2010 01:13 PM

I got ciaos at 50% off it was about $75

I bought the set of 36 sketch markers from JoAnn. They came very quickly and were a great deal, but I don't think I'd buy the same set again. The problem with them was that they have a LOT of grays & blacks, which was not great for a stamper (rather than a manga artist, etc.). I believe the Ciao sets might be different with more COLOR!

I have been happy with them though, and feel still that I got a good deal!

I just splurged and got the set of 36 B Ciao! It had quite a bit of colors in it, so I hope that I'm happy with them. Need to study up on how to use them well. :)

I got the set of 12 about 6 mo. ago using a coupon. I think I paid around $38 for them, instead of the $75.

I bought Ciao Set A from JoAnns a couple weeks ago and tried to order Set c on Sunday, but tonight I received an email that they cancelled my order, saying they are no longer available. So much for 50% off!

For those of you who have Copics, are they worth it? Are they difficult to learn how to use?

sanderf 03-19-2010 04:30 PM

I think they are worth it - I would have to say that they are the best tool that I have ever purchased. I really enjoy coloring now and probably do about 75% of my cards with some sort of colored image (just so I can use the copics, lol!)

I do strongly recommend that you take a Copic 101 class if you have a good LSS near you - I took a class with Sally Lynn McDonald and I really learned a lot - one of the best things was learning how to purchase Copics and which colors blend well together!

Good luck!

I have bought three sets of the Ciao's at 50% off from JoAnns. I have the A,B & D set. I'm saving up to get the C set. I just love the price & they came quickly with regular shipping. I got them when they were offering 40% off paper crafting supplies. That way I got all of th Tim Holtz goodies on sale. They have a ton of his products. I'm really happy with the service I received.
