Any Recovering Soldier

I so wanted this to be true, but according to snopes.com this is false and Walter Reed or any other military hospital WILL NOT deliver a card or package to a soldier/sailor without a name. It will be returned to sender if there is a return address. Please read the following link: http://www.snopes.com/politics/chris...ldiercards.asp
I have seen the Walter Reed address here on SCS. I don't know if this is the proper place to post this message, but I wanted to let our stamping community know. It sure seemed like a good idea.

You are correct, but take heart, lol. ALSO at the snopes.com website are several links and addresses provided by Walter Reed that are good places to send cards and packages to. There are also gals here on SCS (sprtchick is one) collecting cards that do have valid methods of sending cards both to Iraq and Afghanistan (let's not forget our soldiers in Afghanistan!).

You can also check out the master list of card drives in the Need a Lift forum.

One drive (for Operation Quiet Comfort) asks folks to send a little note of encouragement, which goes in care packages they send soldiers recovering in military hospitals around the world.

It also has several drives for blank cards for the troops to use to write their loved ones.
