The Angel Company closing?
Someone has posted on SU that The Angel Company is shutting its doors. Haven't been able to confirm anywhere on the internet. I did try to call TAC and no one answered. Anyone can confirm?
I saw that, too and went to their website and couldn't find anything. Any TAC angels out there that confirm??????
I know that they have had Phone answering issues. I don't know anymore than that.
Oh no..this is awful! I loved buying from TAC..I was even an Angel two years ago...this is a shock if it is true.
blessings. |
I just emailed the person I get my stuffesss from lets see what she says.. I hope not ..
I posted something on Facebook about this. I am waiting to see if I hear anything else about it.
i used to be an angel too - I would be very sorry to hear that :(
Has anyone found out if this is true?
Hmmmm....I am curious now too! I use to be with TAC as well.
my best friend is an angel co. rep and she told me about it today. Angel Co. is done effective immediately.
Effective immediately? Wow. That's sad.
well, goodness
Yup, she said the consultants aren't even able to place one last order...
and was there a reason?
she wasn't given a reason

I found out yesterday from my local consultant. they are closing. I have been ordering TAC for 8 or 9 years.
OMG how SAD!!!! I am sorry for the consultants as well as us customers!!
WHAT! I just started ordering from them again! I sure hope this isn't true...my friend Sue isn't going to be very happy! They are going really soon to a WAG in Oregon.........dang and I was looking forward to going next year!
That's terrible. I don't even see an "official" announcement on their site yet, but when I click "order now" it takes me to an error redirection type page. For the Angels, I too hope it isn't true, but it's looking like it is.
(If it is true, I hope those Angels find new places with AMuse, SU, CTMH and/or Ippity.) |
OMG! That is just shocking and very sad. No reasoning at all? Hopefully something will come out. Yes, I am being nosy too. I was always fond of TAC and seriously thought about becoming a demo. I am in shock right now. My heart goes out to all the demo's.
I would hope that they gave their consultants some kind of notice. Otherwise, that really stinks. I used to be a TAC demo, and it's because of these spur-of-the-moment decisions and keeping consultants in the dark that I decided to leave. I hope the Angels find other companies/opportunities, because I feel very bad for them.

apparently the demonstrators were contacted but no specs
I don't know anything else about it...just very sad:( |
I wonder if this was in the works when they set up the digi stamp store as a separate entity. I thought it strange at the time that TAC did not give commissions from digital sales to their consultants like SU does. They probably have much less overhead and debt to keep the digital company going. I feel bad for the angels.
Consultants were asked to NOT make this information public until the company made a formal public announcement at the end of the month. How unfortunate that some consultants cannot respect the wishes of Mischelle Smith in this trying time for her and her family.
In this economy, they probably filed bankruptcy. But that is just speculation on my part. It is sad though that demos are being asked to keep this quiet until the end of the month. No way that was going to happen with electronic media. I know this has to be hard for the head of the company, but there were A LOT more people involved than just her family.
Glad I didn't rejoin with them. Almost did last month. |
My last post was deleted, so I'll try to re-word it. This is also a difficult time for the consultants who were just dumped by the company with no explanation given. It's not right to just ignore emails and phonecalls from your demos. Many of them have spent years building up their businesses as well. They deserved an explanation and some kind of notice. Very wrong.

If I were that customer, I'd want my consultant to be up front with me. I've never bought anything from The Angel Company, but I'm always sorry to hear that a stamp company or store is going out of business. |
wow, this is mind-boggling! I have a stamp club member who is a TAC consultant...she is a hobbyist and doesn't sell to others but I still feel bad for her. I feel bad for everyone involved...the corporate folks, the demos, the customers. They have cute stuff AND they were the first I know of to offer cling mount with real rubber (my preference due to the durability and longevity as well as "stampability" if that is a word) vs going with polymer.
I hate seeing any stamp companies go under....what a shame, we are all in this crafting world together! I was sad to see Dee G. from Posh Impressions retired (although well deserved!) but I know they were able to sell to another company so hopefully Posh will live on. Dee G. and Carol Duval are probably what really got me going with stamping years ago when my youngest was starting 2nd grade and we were new in town. That child just went off to start his senior year of college and now I am REALLY glad I have a stamping hobby! I also remember a few years ago when another company went under (was it Stamp Impressions? Dream Impressions? something like that. Tthey did retail first then went into DSA) and a friend of mine was so excited to be a new consultant getting in on the ground floor...it was quite a shock for them finding out about it closing down later. I imagine it was very much the same for TAC consultants...except TAC had been around much longer! |
I was with The Angel Company for 6 years. I just left in Dec. 2010.
I am totally Shocked. I really feel bad for the Demo's. and those that just joined. I have had a few Friends that were Demo's join other companies. In the last month or so. There must have been some indication, Otherwise Why would these Top sales gals leave. The thing that we need to do now is Pray for Mischelle and her company. |
wow so sad to hear ;(

Apologies to Jeanstamping2 -- your last post was soooo sweet. Yes, we need to keep the owner, the company, and all the people associated with it in our prayers. You probably didn't realize the serious consequences (possibly legal?) that can be associated with public statements on Facebook! I am sorry for "shaming on you" -- I'm just an ol' grandma! Forgive me

I found this one the Digi Design House Page:

It is with great sadness that I must announce we are hanging up our wings. These past several years our industry has faced enormous challenges and as a result, we have seen many companies close their doors. We continued to hope we could see The Angel Company through this recession and back into prosperous days and we held onto this hope as long as we could. One of the largest challenges affecting each of us is our industry not being able to support all of the direct sales companies in our field. Even in a healthy economy, we are a niche market trying to compete for a very limited number of distributors. As a small company, this has been a grueling challenge for us. Times are tough for everyone ~ in direct sales and retail environments. I would like to thank each of you for being an customer and Angel these past 14 years. Indeed, it has been a pleasure to serve you. The Angel Company |
I wonder what they're going to do with their stock on hand? Do you think they'll make more known after the end of the month. I really feel for the Angels, who invested their hard earned money into an organization that seemed so solid. It's not cheap to become and stay a demonstrator. I wonder if the top sellers were given more notice than the average seller?
