I would like to store my prismacolor pencils (set of 120) on my desk but my current container is too big and the pencils fall down. I would like to see the color tips all standing up. Does anyone have any storage tips that work for you?

I store mine in a medium-sized ceramic plant container (smaller at the bottom with a wider mouth) The pencils sort of fan out so you can still see the color you're looking for easily. They look pretty too. I like this much better than the pencil case I previously had.
I made a divided holder out of chipboard coasters that I found directions for on here somewhere. It turned out really cute, and it is much better that sorting through the layered tin they came in! If I can find the link to the directions, I'll post it.
I just got done putting them in mason jars standing up. I got tired of them being in the case that took space up on my work space.

Dick Blick sell a somewhat expensive case that is amazing for making colored pencils very portable. I absolutely love mine and am using my pencils more because of it. http://craftharsis.blogspot.com/2007...l-toolbox
I found two black ceramic bath cups at tj maxx i think... they were only $2 each and then i sorted them into the two cups by color.. this works for me! HTH
I have mine in a metal pail that I picked up from Dollarama and they are sitting on my craft table within reach, I also put my blender pen and aquapainters there as well.
I have mine sorted into 3 color groups and store them in the inexpensive small white gift bags with handles that they sell for about $0.79 in the gift wrap dept of Joann's or Michaels. Cheap, lighweight, space efficient, and very portable. I also store my pens, pencils, markers, and brushes in the same bags. I used to use the mason jars, but these work much better. I've linked two pictures showing this - please excuse the blurry pictures.
I have mine sorted by color family and incolors, each has it's own bin with the SU markers to, the pencils are wrapped in a rubber band. I just grab the color family and go or take the pencils I want.
