Default Cuttlebug Embossing Folder & Original Sizzix

Can someone please clarify if the Cuttlebug Embossing Folders can be used with the Original Sizzix?

If so, what do I need??

I am totally obsessed with the swiss dot embossing folder!

Thanks!

Hi Leeann! Welcome to SCS!

Yes, you can use the embossing folders in the original Sizzix machine. You'll need the black magnetic converter (the one you need for using Sizzlits dies) and a cutting pad. For the larger A2 embossing folders like the swiss dots one you mentioned, you'll need to make two presses with the machine (same as when you cut with one of the big dies).

Hope this helps!

Hi PH! Thanks for your help!

Check on the magnetic converter.

Is the press the white thing? I would use 2 of these if I am embossing right?

I am not sure I know what the cutting pad is...need help here.

no the white thing is the cutting pad. So you'd put your paper in the embossing folder, pop it on the pad but you must have the magnetic convertor to get the right height. If you have those then it will work fine.

No need to use two cutting pads either just slide the folder along if it's too big for the mat (I haven't seen how big the larger folders are)
