SBVC24..."Create a fun border using fibers"...5.2.08
SBVC24....."Create a fun border using fibers".....5.2.08
This is your challenge. Using several strands of different fibers attach them to your LO with hand stitching, machine stitching or glue dots. works best to wind and twist them together. I also tied on a few strands here and there, added some buttons, brads and eyelets, but that isn't a requirement.
It doesn't need to be along the whole page, maybe even a small strip along your journaling to call attention to it or a picture
The OPD (One Page Doc, aka: Master Challenge Thread) that includes all challenges on one page for your printing convenience can be found here: OPD
If you have any questions please feel free to contact any one of the SBCT (scrapbook challenge team)via pm or simply post your question in this thread.
:-D Good morning Peggy!! Your pgs. came out fantastic! I love this challenge but I don't have any fibers...I am going to Walmart today ..would they have them there?? Or is this something you need to get at your LSS?

you can get it from Walmart. I bought several different types of yarns, (shared with my sis as there is so much in each package) there are so many fun styles now too.
If you are okay about waiting and know what color(s) you'd like and I might have something you could use, I'd be happy to mail you some pieces so you don't have to go out and buy a bunch. Just a thought.
OOOOO. . . Oh well will have to go buy some, darn. . . drag myself to the store and suffer through shopping for scrapbook stuff. What a rough life!!!
Love this challange, always have seen these fibers but never quite knew what to do with them.

Oh thank you ...you are so generous and thoughtful but I am sure that I will use fibers again on one of my pgs., so I will go and buy some...I am going to do the same thing you did and share some with my sis. Thanks again!!
you are so welcome - the fun thing is it isn't just pain old yarn any more.
Michaels and JoAnns also have some funky stuff in case that helps anyone.
Oh yeah, I always forget about JoAnn's! I am excited to try this...I have never used fibers...what works better to hold it down.. glue dots, or adhesive???

it will be in with the yarns and I know at least our JoAnn's has a bunch of it.
kind of depends on which yarns you get, but I found glue dots worked best for me. In a few places where I twisted them together I snuck a glue dot under the lumpy spot. I also had to do a couple tack stitches. don't forget you can always hold it down with brads, eyelets and or buttons, even small chipboard pieces would look great tucked in! Have fun!!!
Oooh! This is gonna be so much fun. I crochet so I have tons of "fun fur" and other funky fibers to play with. I always stock up when it is on sale at Michael's. I'm at work right now:rolleyes: and I can't wait to get home and play tonight. Have a great afternoon ladies. :p

I haven't tried this personally but, I read somewhere that Art Accentz Terrifically Tacky tape is good for securing ribbons and fibers. I have some and I'm gonna give it a go on my layout. Hope to get it done today.:-D
