Red face I have a dumb question

Good morning! Ok. So I want to try out the faux postage technique. Do I print out the template onto cardstock or do I print it out on regular white computer paper? I really like the look of this technique and want to give it a try! Thanks in advance for any help!

Hi!

I haven't tried it before, but everything I've read says to use a window sheet or acetate. You print one copy of the template on scrap paper, and use that to cut out the acetate, then you print a "real" copy of the template on whatever paper you are going to be using for stamping.

Here's a link:

I print it on cardstock. I have only done that technique a few times but I love it!

I've tried it with computer paper and card stock. Card stock looks much better.

I didn't print the template off onto acetate. After I had printed the template onto card stock, I placed the piece of acetate on top, then cut out "windows" using an exacto knife and ruler. Of course that piece of card stock is not usable any more. But the acetate template is great for HOURS of fun! Just print off more copies.

Happy stamping.

Are you all using the template from Red Castle or somewhere else?

There's a template available right here in the Resource section and a great tutorial, too, by Beate!

If you would like "postage" in different sizes or shapes, just use a software program for drawing dotted lines at equal distances. It's also fun to add words like "birthday postage" or "fishmail" to match whatever image you are stamping.

GarnetJ - Excellent idea that takes this look to a different level. So obvious I couldn't see it... as the DH would say "DUH!".
