Default Vellum Adhesive Question

What is everyone's pick as a vellum adhesive? I use the Scotch brand vellum tape but I'm not terribly impressed with it.......overall.....it tends to stick to my scissors more than my vellum.....and leaves like little "snotballs" of adhesive on the backside. I sure don't find it "invisible" at all....

Anyone? Thanks in advance......I know this will get lots of response so I can start looking for an alternative!

Hello! I use the mini glue dots that SU has because they are very small and as long as there is something on top of the vellum, like ribbon, it is hidden, and they are very sticky. Normally i do not use vellum unless i can put something on top to "hide" the glue.

Hope you find what you are looking for!

Hmmm. Here are some of my favorite "invisible" adhesives for vellum:

Xyron adhesive backing
Scotch 3M "Removable" Glue Stick (REALLY WORKS!)
Spray Adhesive (last resort--I'm sensitive to fumes . . . :( )

I just learned that if it is a smallish piece, if you put mono on the whole thing you cant tell. Has to be on the whole thing, though, if you miss just a tiny spot it shows.

Helloooooo my Twin!! I use a spray called "Scrappers Spray" by Creative Imaginations. It has the seal for Creating Keepsakes on it, and I got it at a Scrapbook Store in Virginia before we moved. I wish I could send you some via mail, sprays are a huge no-no!

I bought the vellum tape and it shows as much as mono-adhesive and is harder to use. I figured if I use just a tad bit of mono-adhesive and put an eyelet or ribbon over that spot, no one can tell.

Oooooh, girlfriend, TFS! That is good to know. I'm sure I can order it online as you provided me with great info to know what I'm looking for!

Hugs,

Default vellum adhesive

I use mounting adhesive by "keep a memory". It comes in a packet the size of a card. I bought it at a scrapbook store years ago in DC. There are several sheets of adhesive in it so you can cut whatever size you need. The only time it shows through vellum is if I use a piece with an edge that has been sitting in my drawer for a while. Then the edge is dirty.
