WT22 -Join us for the New Ways to Use It Challenge
Please join us this week for a new Ways to Use It Challenge. This week we will be using our Spectrum ink pads. You may also use Kaleidacolor or any other similar pad you own. Lately mine have been gathering dust...how about yours?
Everyone is welcome to join this challenge. If you don't have a scanner or digital camera, play at home anyway and let us know what you did. If you have any tips or ideas for using the Spectrum pads that you would like to share...don't be shy...post them here! Also if anyone has inked their own spectrum pads...we'd be interested in some great color combos.
Please remember to put WT22 in you keywords section and to post a link back here. If you have any questions at all, please let me know. Remember this is not a contest and you have all week to make as many cards as you like. This challenge is just to inspire you and others.
ohhhh cool,,, i love using those,, good challenge,,,,,,,

I think I am going to try to "create" my own...I don't have any, and I just recently bought a brayer, and just really stink with it...so this will be good practice. Great challenge!
I have one given to me that is old. I think it came from the craft store instead of SU! I have no idea what colors are in it. I'll have to dig it out and see. I've read that you can wash out ink pads and re-ink them with your color of choice. Can anyone tell me the best way to do this? And can someone tell me really, really quickly where the list is of all the colors in the current SU! spectrum pads? Thanks in advance.
I'm addicted to them! I have 13 or 14 and next on my list is to get an un-inked one to make my own combo! I've gotta go to work, but I'll try to play later or over the weekend. Thanks Julia.
I don't have any. It is on my list for my next order, but I really need a Hostess order, so I have to wait for some money so I can get to $150.
I'll be watching what you ladies come up with though, for my Faves Folder, so I know what to do when I get them.
This challenge forced me to dust off those Spectrum ink pads, really good idea challenge master.
This card looks much richer in person with the copper paper and wire. And the Spectrum pad shows up better in person.
This was really fun. But these challenges are keeping me up at night trying to get cards done and downloaded. I am such a stampaholic and I have passed this sickness on to others. I have no shame.

I don't have any spectrum colors yet so I thought I would use a VersaColor that has a rainbow of greens called Rainforest. This was a fun challenge as I haven't used a combination of colors like this before.
I used the Cotton Candy Spectrum for the Expressionistic Watercolor background of the card. It seems like half the cards I make use a spectrum/kaleidacolor pad! LOL!
This is my FIRST SCS challenge.
Not only did this get me to use a Kaleidacolor ink pad, that had sat around for ages, it got me to use this stamp set for the first time, AND an old rustic looking ivy emellishment that I have had hangin' around for YEARS! It just needed something, and I didn't have enough fiber that matched.
I purposely wouldn't let myself look at any of your cards, because #1) I didn't want to be intimidated.... and #2) I didn't want to be influenced and feel I was copying anything y'all had done.
(I hope I do this right!)

Now... I am going to take time to go look at all of yours!!
I used my spectrum ink pads a lot for the kids cards. My Big and Juicy are the jumbo size and so easy to cover the entire stamp and I have four colorful pads. So this was a real easy challenge for me and here's my..... Birthday Card
This wasn't as easy as I thought it would be. I did not like the first few attempts. But I kinda like the way this turned out. I am going to try one with shapes and shadows on top before I get everything put away.
Here is my card for the challenge... I left out that I used the canvas stamp for the background and I guess I did a version of kissing. Well, maybe not quite,,, I am not quite sure what it is,,,, lol,, anyway, thanks for looking,,

I finally had time to attempt this today. I finally broke down and bought a brayer and played with my glossy white paper and spectrum pads. These two cards were the outcome of today's play time.... Thanks for the challenge.
I have been wanting to case this from the IB&C (as I've noticed several others have - all GREAT!) so this gave me the motivation. Thanks again Julia S for all you do to make this site the wonderful place it is!
I just uploaded my WT22 card. Thanks for the idea. I only have a Kaleidacolor ( cappuccino delight ) so used it. It was fun to make a fall card. I used my favorite technique.........TP Smearing! I learned it from my Demo.....leslierich. Thanks for looking. Nancy
I did another one and had fun with this Race Car set. It's from 1997 which is before my stamping days. A donation from SU and Jus Colorado make up most of the stamps and c/s. I also did one in Real Red and used the Kaleidacolor ink pad but the one used on this card gives a better blend of colors. Here's the Race Car
well.... I forgot to link my latest card, for this challenge (mixed with the sketch challenge) to this thread. (maybe I'll get used to this site one of these days!!)
I'm sure everyone has seen it through the daily uploads page but, here is the link. Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
Another WT22 card using my kalaidacolor pad and babywipe swipe technique. A quick and easy card. Just in time to try your next WT23 challenge. Thanks again Julia for your awesome challenges. Nancy
