I've got 2 different challenges for you to choose from. Why 2 - well, because I did them both on the same LO.
First challenge - Create a fun embellishment using a bookplate or frame.
Second challenge - make pleats from either pp or ribbon and use it on your LO.
my samples:
all smiles - I used a chipboard bookplate, painted and sanded it, decorated it with little flowers and placed it over the metal oval HodgePodge bookplate/frame on which I placed a gel sticker on top of. This really draws the eye to an embellishment that otherwise might be missed.
For the pleats - I used pp and scored it at 3/4" then 1"; repeated for 2 1/2 strips. attached them with mono. I thought this was a little more tedious than the ribbon and sewing.
best dressed - on this one I used ribbon and stitched it down. I wasn't as careful about getting the pleats even as I was with the paper.
I can't wait to see your ideas!

This is going to be fun! I've wanted to try adding paper or ribbon pleats to my pages. Thanks for the challenge! And b/c today is my birthday, DH has guaranteed that I will have time to play!

thank you so much! I look forward to seeing some ideas.
So I did get to play but my belly was full from a yummy birthday dinner and then cake and ice cream. Here is my page with pleated ribbon. I actually had no idea how to do the ribbon and thought it would be simpler. It was simple but it took time and a lot of glue dots w/o a sewing maching. Hope the pleats stay down!

right, I did it! Pleating ribbon without a sewing machine, not a good idea! Still, it was fun and got me through the 3rd and 4th pages of my six page zoo trip (per child!?!?!? do I have a problem???) so thanks for that! animals at the zoo by Goegirl at Splitcoaststampers

fantastic job! thank you for taking the challenge!
no you don't have a problem - I blame it on the invention of digital photography:p
I got it done--Hurrayyyy!! Who knew pleating would be so tedious, I finally sliced of a thin piece of cardstock to hold the back of the ribbon and then tacked each pleat with a glue dot! The frame it from Tim Holz grunge board--that is some fun stuff sleigh ride by fresshe at Splitcoaststampers

All of the pages with pleats have been fabulous! I loved this challenge and decided to try the plate part of it, too, on one of the pages for my nephew's HS graduation. I tried to make the plate act sort of like a limb by coloring it brown with my Basic Brown ink pad and putting a stamped and cut out owl. TFL!

I was able to do the pleats on this DPS. It was trial and error inthe beginning but once I figures it all out, it was easy. I didn't stitch riht to the paper cause the ribbon was to thick and my little sew crafty mini just didn't give me the room so I stitched the ribbon, then adhered with glue dots.
