First I want to say that I am totally addicted to the site and very sad that I just found out about it. My demo told me to check it out a few weeks ago when I was still on summer break and now I have to go back to work and can't "play" anymore. Pray for me as the school year progresses as I teach my seventh graders the wonderful world of science.
I do have one question. I am thinking about participating in my first online swap. One swap mentions it is an 8+1, what does that refer to?
Thanks for the inspiration...

Howdy! I'm waving to you from humid Schertz, just northeast of San Antonio! We're so happy that you found us, and will still be here after school ends for the day! My son *loves* science, and can't wait to start school so that he can learn more!
As for swaps - 8+1 means you send 9 cards in. You will get 8 back. The hostess keeps the +1 for coordinating the swap.
Howdy from Ft Hood TX, I am a stamper and scrapper too, that is why I originally got into stamping. I hope you are not from the part of TX that is under water this week (We kinda are) Have fun as your school year starts, and come here when you need to vent or relax!

Thanks for the help. I have used the forums to find the answers to most things. Everyone is so helpful. I'm from just north of Austin and we received 5 inches of rain at home today. I love my job, but the beginning of the school year is so hectic. I'd rather spend my evenings making cards and spending time with my children (2 and 4 mo.) instead of working on school work, which I'm not getting much done of tonight.
I've already got a fellow teacher to join SCS and I showed another one the site on Tuesday.

Hi from the midwest...wecome... and I wanted to let you lnow that you are among many AWESOME stampers in Texas...
Good luck in the school year andd BLESS YOU for teaching our children of today..
Swaps are great...you get to see and keep some really great ideas... I have done a few and and have been pleased...
Nice to meet you
Thank you for the kind words about teachers. The students start on Tuesday and there is way too much to do in such a short period of time.
I look forward to visiting the site each night and gaining inspiration from each of you. I do fall in the category of spending too much time shopping for supplies, organizing my supplies, finding great ideas , and then running out of time to actually do my stamping.
