Default Please clue me in......Pearl Ex and ?

Can someone fill me in on this Pearl Ex and hairspray mixture. I was very surprised when I first heard of it , as all the Demo's I have talked to have said to put it in alcohol to spray on the cards. And then spray with a fixatif to prevent it from being wiped off. So what the deal with the hairspray ?

the hairspray acts as the fixative, therefore eliminating a step

ok , but when ever I have used non aerosol hair spray on a card, it left little specklets of hairspray on the card ,that was visable even with just a fine mist. So it kind of messed up the card. I really prefer the alcohol and fixatif method, unless there is a special hairspray that won't leave specks on the card. What brand do most people use for this?

i use White Rain unscented maximum hold for all hairtypes (this was the cheapest one at walmart), and it works wonderfully!! No spots, just a fine gold mist (or whatever other pearl ex color...)
