I don't know what colors you're looking for, but Joann's has quite a few. Pastels, bright colors, neutrals, etc. They have their own brand of embellishments. Sometimes they're even on sale for half price.
Try Target in their dollar section. I picked up some flower ones and some square ones in multile colors I think there are about 25-30 (I am just guessing how many) brads in the package and they are just a dollar. Good luck.

i work at target and haven't seen these....go figure
From the home page, click on Shop, then click on Eyelets and Brads, then click on Brads or Mini Brads. Silver, brass, antique brass, black, COPPER, from $1.19 to 1.68 for 100! They also have several colors and shapes...
I go to walmart and get mine in the office section they have them 50 for a buck. I also have purchased mine at JoAnn fabrics when they have the 50% off sale
Jen
Here is fun site that has tons of embellishments! The link will bring you to their brads page but you can just click to go home and see all that they offer!
ya scrappapotamus.com has awesome stuff.. the clips in the link Keri put up above are awesome too!! But addictedtoscrapbooking.com has some cheap brads in nice quantites.
I have found that the cheaper brads don't work as well as ours. I had some cheap ones I was using on a Stamp Camp project and people couldn't pry the ends apart. I noticed that ours have a long end and a shorter end so you can get the little ends apart. It's not a big difference, but it's worth mentioning.

thanks
Toni,
Thanks so much for posting the addicted to scrapbooking site. I went and checked it out and they have lots of stuff that I liked! I ordered 9 different types of mini brads (100 each), 30 bookmarks, 2 packages of micro beads that looked the same to me as the SU microbeads, some shrink plastic (to try it out), an eyelet setting mat, a checkbook cover, and I got to choose a free gift (you have 100 choices). I was impressed with the prices! My whole order WITH priority shipping was only $32.00! I have it saved in my favorites and may have to order more mini brads if I like them! Thanks again!
Jody what are you going to do with 900 Mini Brads??? LOL You are too much! I can't wait to see all your cards!!! But in all seriousness, you got some GREAT deals! I too can't wait to get some orders going...I have to wait a few weeks for the pocket to get a little deeper! LOL Have fun with all those mini brads! What colors did you get?

keri
Keri,
Maybe I will put them in one of the 600 envelopes I bought today! LOL (buy one box of 100 get one free at office max!)
I am a "stock-up type". I won't have to buy brads for a while! I just can't seem to have a few of anything. If you can get a good price... buy a ton! LOL I ordered 54 mono refills the other day! I also hit hobby lobby today and got some Kaleidacolor and stazon pads (50% off) so I can make some dominoes (Which I also bought today). AND I got a few rubber stamps that were also 50% off! Oh, did I forget to mention the 7 acrylic frames for post it note holders??? I am almost officially broke now for the next 2 weeks, so I will be on a major spending restriction, but I had a lot of fun today! I'll have lots of stamping to do anyway!
The colors of brads I ordered are: COPPER, RED, BLACK, ANTIQUE BRASS, MIDNIGHT BLUE, NICKEL, FOREST GREEN, PLUM, AND GOLDENROD. Hmmmm did you have to mention it was 900.... I WAS in denial afterall! LOL What AM I going to do with all those. I still have a bunch of SU brads to use!
hehehehe I ordered the Copper, antique brass and the brass ones from there, I was trying to figure out what I was going to do with 300 of them!!! But gotta start making some swaps for the SCS gathering at The Lodge, and might use them to do the shoebox swaps, never know!!

You're welcome, Jody!!
I'm glad I'm not the only one with GOTTAHAVITALL!! I ordered brass, antique brass, black, copper, and silver stars.
Did you see Kar's post about Magic Mesh over the weekend?
Quote:
Hey did you all know they have a website?? It is at www.magicmesh.com There are some neat colors of mesh but you have to order from a cyber site or they do tell where to buy it in the state you live.
I ordered SIX colors. $3 a roll, FREE S/H. If you are in Michigan, like I am, you have to pay sales tax, but it's still a deal!!
Now I just need to get the spiral Post-it Note covers, gift bags and boxes, checkbook covers, and the rest of the neat stuff I've found out about on this website!

One more thing.... sheesh!! I wanted to mention that addictedtoscrapbooking.com has a sister site, addictedtorubberstamps.com. Haven't browsed through there lately (since I've become a demo) but they have an extensive inventory of stamps....and lots of other goodies, I'm sure. They always have sales going on, too!

Thanks for the info on the magic mesh, but I am in awe of the drywall tape right now! I got 150 feet of white and yellow drywall tape for 4.00 a roll from Lowes! I know there are not many color options, but for that price, it's just toooooooo good of a deal. I'll have to pass on the magic mesh for now! I'd have to order 2 of each! LOL
Have you heard of the drywall tape idea already? It's not something I would demo of course, but for me... it works!
Toni, don't forget the acrylic frames, hersheys nuggets, paint cans, mini and reg comp books and... hmmmm don't forget, buy more than 1! LOL
Yes Toni I did order it... I wish I knew which colors are like Stampin Up's then would order more. Will compare with my demo's colors and see. I wouldn't think they would make "special" colors for SU to sell?? Will have to see

I've read about the drywall tape but not sure how to (or if you can) color/dye/ink it. I ordered silver, copper, and black MM - figured they'd have to be the same as SU! Got burgundy, taupe, and sage because I might need them for my personal Christmas cards - and because I love those colors - not sure that SU! even offers them...will have to check.
Kar - you'll have to let us know if your Magic Mesh colors match SU! I still need to get to that website and check it out.
I forgot about the acrylic frames, but I did buy one (yes, one!) mini composition book to experiment with!
