I love my demonstrator. She is so nice and I love her classes when she has them. My problem is getting in touch with her to place an order. Everytime I send her an e-mail or leave a message, she doesn't respond. I sent one on Monday to order 2 stamp sets and haven't heard back. I really don't want to find a new demo. I've resorted to Ebay twice to get something (I know....bad me but I didn't want to GIVE my business to someone else-Ebay seems anonymous-silly). Now I'm thinking I have to find a new demo. I feel horrible.
Don't feel bad about not being happy with the service that someone provides to you. If you are not getting what you need, by all means find a new demo (there is a demo locator available on the Stampin' UP! website, or there are a bunch here).
Think about what you would LIKE in a demo (do you want classes, do you want quick service, lots of e-mails about sales). Your demo (based on your needs/desires) can be local or long distance.
Have you tried telling the demo that you love that you would really appreciate a quicker response time from her (and maybe there is a different way to contact her)?
You shouldn't have to stress - you're the customer. I would go ahead and find a new demo, and I would express to the one you find the issues you had with the last one, so you can head off any future problems with her.
I had a similar problem with my demo and that's why I signed up to be one! And NOT with her!
You are NOT her property and are NOT required to buy from her! Either find a demo to buy from who can fill your needs (a local demo if you want classes, but ANY demo can take your orders!) or sign up for yourself! Right now is a GREAT time to sign up! The starter kit is only $159!
If she doesn't return your emails, think she'll even notice you're not ordering from her anymore? When I lived in Virginia Beach, I had a GREAT Stampin Up demo. She's responsible for getting me hooked into this wonderful obsession. If you are in the Virginia Beach area, PM me and I'll get your her contact info. I haven't lived there in 4 years but I'm betting she's still active. At one point she left her job to do SU fulltime. THAT's devotion! She's a single mom so it was a leap!
The customer is #1, remember that old rule? I'm a demo and if any of my customers feel I've let them down, I HOPE they'll find another demo and be able to purchase the wonderful SU products! SU shouldn't lose business because I've been neglectful. Nor should a customer ever have to go without.
My personal pet peeve is bad customer service. As we move further into the world of WalMart, Michael's, Home Depot and other huge conglomerate stores, we're voluntarily giving up on good, old fashioned customer service. It's a shame, I think.

Here is the bottom line. Stampin' Up! is a customer service business. I pride myself on spoiling my customers. They get top-notch service because they rely on me to help them make their cards, scrapbook pages and other papercrafting projects.
I agree with the other responses. It's time to find a new demonstrator. Try to find one that will spoil you with wonderful ideas and lots of creativity. You'll be amazed at how much happier you will be.

I have all of two customers...lol...Myself and a friend of mine that work next to me. I should really expand but too much going on and I'm overly organized that it can irritate some people...but as for a customer who only orders a little a time is still business. I mean the best I can say to a customer is "9.95 is your shipping cost for up too 100.00" So it gives them something to think about because for every "little" bit the buy shipping remains 9.95. If they don't mind 10 bucks in shipping for ever small order they then who are we to say or do anything otherwise.
I don't have a big clientele so it would be interesting to hear what some demo say about this..
Thanks for your responses ladies. This 2-stamp order adds to my total of $283 in orders since the beginning of the year. I really want a local demo because I enjoy the classes. I've contemplated becoming a hobby demo because clearly I can make the quarterly minimums myself.
I agree with everyone else. If your demo isn't meeting your needs it's time to find a new one.
In regards to little orders here and there, they are welcomed. I usually ship directly to the customer if they give me a surprise order, so I don't combine with other small orders. Most of my orders come from a class, though, so those are combined and sent to me.

Definitely shop around for a new demo---try out others, to see their fit, and i would be totally honest with of what you are looking for. If youwant classes, if you want extra specials, or if you just want quick responses(which by the way, you should get from anyone) If you are going to classes, especially to check them out and this may cause me to be flamed, but here goes, don't feel you have to order if you don't want to. The class fee should cover her expenses plus some. When you find that demo that impresses you, she will have earned your orders, IMO.
And as far as small orders, not at all does that bother me, it has bumped me up many times and i would have no problem placing that order anytime i would get it!

I am not a demo, but I would think that a demo would welcome any sized order, right? Heck, back at the holidays, I ordered one item- the fishy wheel from my cousin-she didn't complain! But sometimes the orders are for more than 100 dollars, so it all evens out, right?
A demo would have to be really successful to disregard small orders...and I still would be shocked! Keri
If someone wants to place an order for one item, can it be sent in with your large order and they then only be charged only a % of the shipping?
You can add it to a larger order, but it's all delivered to one address. So if you are in another state and place a one item order and want it to be added to my next order, that order would be shipped to me (or the hostess), and then it would have to be shipped AGAIN to you.
But I never complain about ANY order. Just remember that there is a minimum shipping charge....

$283 since the beginning of the year! You could DEFINITELY make your minimums! And for $159 right now you could get MORE stamps and inkpads and supplies!
