Tip for saving stamp cleaner

For those of you who dont make your own, so you dont have tons of it, I accidentally tried this while stamping tonight.

I was cleaning my stamps that I was using for a swap and since it had been awhile since cleaning a stamp, all the cleaner was dry on the pad. Well instead of grabbing my stamp cleaner I grabbed a water bottle and squirted it on there instead, well since there was cleaner on the pad and it was just dry, it was still all foamy.

Moral of the story...from now on after I clean my stampin scrub, I will just spray it with cleaner and from that point on til I clean it again, I'll just use water

another idea is to dilute your stamp cleaner..I have been doing this for 2 years and still have 1/2 bottle left..I just bought the refill bottle and went a got an empty spray and mixed 1/2 water to 1/2 cleaner.

I'm wondering if SU changed their cleaning solution? My stampin mist is more or less just scented water. I've resorted to using baby wipes to clean my stamps. Anybody else have that problem? Maybe it was just a bad batch (was the first time I ever bought it and I have nothing to compare it to) Is it supposed to be foamy?

Mine does not foam and I am also another unimpressed person...I will not talk it up too much as a cleaner but more as a stamp conditioner...

I agree, Keri! I love it as a conditioner, but when I want them *clean*, I use Windex. After the Windex, I give them all a good scrubbing with the Stampin' Mist to condition the rubber. I tell my customers the same thing.

londonrain - I also noticed that about my new stampin' mist - very little scent and not as much foam. I love our stampin' mist but didn't like that bottle - hopefully it will go back to the way it was before.

I always add water to the pad before spraying the mist - my customers love the money saving tip.

I just sent them an email stating all this...I am just sad that it does not work as well because I really like the convenience of the Scrub and Mist!

Shell, I think someone posted in one of the previous threads on this that Windex and other products (including baby wipes) that contain alcohol are a no-no, and can eventually damage the rubber. Maybe you're counteracting this by conditioning with the Stampin' Mist, but I don't know, and your customers might not always follow up with conditioning after using the Windex.

I find that a tiny bit of baby shampoo in a harspray bottle filled with water is great!

I've been using the Target brand baby wipes (alcohol free) and they work GREAT, and then I'll give the stamp a little scrub on my pad to dry it off.
