They put us in as scrapbooking so when you call to reserve your rooms please say you are with the "Scrapbooking Group". I tried to get her to change it, but she couldn't get it to go through.**** posted 11/14/07 2:26pm

5/6 favorite stamp sets, have something for a Birthday and something small, think 1" x 3" (anything you want, bunnies, snowman, flowers, frogs, but it's gotta be small) ;)
Markers/Ink, if you can share with others that would be great (don't think we need 56 black pads do we?)
I got my PM from Patty, and replied that I would love to help. Any of the 3 places would be fine with me. I also think March would be a great time to have it! I'll keep my eyes glued for more details!!
March is a good month. Most of the bad weather is done... but ya never know! LOL! Easter is in MArch next year... I think. I'd have to look that one up. I can't come the 7, 8, 9th weekend. Keeping my fingers crossed that it's not that weekend. ;)
Me too- I am interested, would love to possibly participate in the planning of it. I LOVE the Lansing/Okemos or the Frankenmuth ideas- I am about 1hr from both.
I think this would be a blast !
Keeping my fingers crossed that it is on a week-end Jen can attend and that the weather will be kind that week-end too ( I'll pass this on to badmom too and the thought of riding with her on snowy roads is petrifying !!!! )
I am SO hoping for Okemos/ Lansing area. Fingers crossed We just moved to the Lansing area and it would be great to connect with other stampers/scrappers in the area.
Thanks,
Christina

We live in Holt. (About 15 min. from Okemos) My hubby works in Lansing. Where are all of you from? If you need help with the planning or anything else, I would love to volunteer
I haven't looked at a calendar, just noticed Jen's comment about Easter being in March??....might have to take in consideration of Spring Breaks at that time too??
Easter is March 23. My school district moved spring break to mid-April, apart from Easter, this year because there is state testing for high school juniors the week following Easter. I'm guessing that many districts will have spring break the week before Easter or some time later... like in April.
WOW Jen you're on the ball - just noticed your siggy already!
I just looked, our spring break is in April.
So...I'm thinking that in order to avoid any major holidays March 14, 15, and 16 might be the best dates. Although those dates are also the Jazz festival in Frankenmuth, so I don't know what lodgings would be like there.

I'm from Waterford. It's in mid-Oakland County, just west of Pontiac.

I'm in Carsonville - 5 miles from Lake Huron, right in the middle of the thumb;)

If you scroll to the bottom, there's a place where you can put your address and see how far you are from there.
To be honest I don't know much about the Lansing/Okemos area (and I'm a little intimidated about driving in those areas!)
That's the weekend I was thinking, too.
Okemos is a nice community... far enough away from Lansing. East Lansing is between Lansing and Okemos. Frankenmuth sounds fun. I'm not familiar with the jazz festival and how crowded it might be.
Subscribing -- those locations are all really far from me (in the UP on Lake Superior at the base of that finger that juts out on the Western end), but I'll keep up on what is in the planning and see what I can do!
I think the reasoning behind Lansing/Okemos in the past, was the amount of stampers from the southern parts of MI.
Once we get a decent sized group we could always poll everyone? Or maybe it would come down to pricing locations in the two areas and seeing if Frankenmuth is more expensive than what Debbie had worked out with the hotel last year?
I am so glad to have this to look forward to!

This sounds great! I live in the Thumb, about 2 hours from Saginaw and Frankenmuth and 3 hours from Lansing/Okemos. Hopefully I can make it. I would love to meet all of you Michigan stampers.

Oh Wow I am already behind!! LOL!! Patty I sent you a PM, but please put me on your planning committee!! This is great!! I also like the week end that Jen mentioned, but I'm not too sure about Frankenmuth when there is another event going on. This town is not that large overall and hotels may be more expensive with this in town. Just a thought. Now I'm off to copy Jen's announcement into my siggy too!!

I've been stamping for 8 or 9 yrs. and I have never been to a stamping event!! I belong to a monthly stamp club, but that's it. Would love to try to come, but the week end of March 7,8,9 would not work for me. I'm also in the thumb, Lapeer county, small town of Dryden. So tell me more about what goes on at these events. Are there classes? What do we need for supplies? Are there vendors there? Sorry I'm really clueless!! Help!
This is looking great- I will have to think about it if it is the weekend of March 14th as it is my birthday (but this could be my present- right?)
My kids are on break March 20th-
As for the Lansing Area/Okemos driving is no big deal- really, especially if you do Okemos and they have a wonderful hobby lobby and some cool sbing stores too!
