My husband tunes in occasionally and posts on the board -- I think his name is "Mr. Hambo." He's really starting to get into the stamping, and is considering starting his own gallery.

My sweet husband just made his first card ever at home. He joined me for the 6 week adult ed class we hold in our town and he loves all the attention from ladies in town who know him well.
The card he made was for his granddaughter and even though I helped him, I made sure it signed his name on the back! He just had to take it to the adult ed class and show it off!
He wants to start stamping images on wood and then burning them or carving them. I said feel free, just don't ruin my stamps!
Now, every Tueday he asks if we're stampin this week. He's never said a word about the money I spend on stamping stuff, but now, he cruises the catelog for stuff HE wants, haha! I say - I've got my stuff picked out, so save your pennies!
We've only been married since October, and he said he wanted to learn the "stuff" I do to make such pretty cards so we have something to do together.

My brother would totally be down with it. We're a creative family. My husband would rather have his arms pulled off in opposite directions.

I know! I've wanted to ask before but thought it might be rude (thanks for handling that for me Shopping Diva, just kidding). I mean if we were on a...I don't know...huntin' and fishin' forum and a male member put the call out for women....we would prolly be offended? So now that you asked, I'm glad we have some!

Yea, I want to know how they got interested in this, also??
My daughter took afew art classes in university and I know if she started scrapbooking/stamping she would love it and would have some very different ideas to bring to SCS. So maybe these fellows have taken some art classes?

As for Penquincity, you have a great guy there - he wants to share what you do and is interested. A keeper!!! Congrats.

My husband has an art degree -- he's a cartoonist at heart -- and has always supported my stamping. Right after I got hooked on stamping myself, he saw some of the stamps I was buying and said "I could draw that!" ... so I told him to go right ahead! That's how our business got started. Still, it took him right up into this past year before he showed any interest in stamping anything himself. He loves to color, so I'd stamp off some images and let him color them in, and then he progressed to stamping his own images to color, and now finally he's making his own cards. Some of them are a bit ... um, weird? ... but I guess he probably thinks some of mine are too! LOL It's more fun now because we shop for our stamping supplies together, comparing notes on which Copic markers we think we'll use the most, or which prismacolors, or papers.
One of his cards is featured on my blog today: http://hambostamps.blogspot.com/2008...tle-today

I know he's just a kid, but my son (Jobo) is on SCS and is a stamper. He makes some fun cards. I had one of his cards on my blog one or 2 posts ago.

not sure why it took me two days to find this thread...
...but here I am! I've been stamping for several years now and found SCS in Feb. of 2005. Momma got me stamping birthday cards for the elderly in our church and I've just kept on stamping since.

Of course it counts....it's called delegating responsibility. Mine (being the johnny depp freak) sharpens all my cutters and scissors for me faithfully. It's scary.

Yes we do - what a creative young man - I love the tips on your blog and the cards in your gallery are GREAT!
Makes me wanna let my 2 DS stamp with me ;) (I guess if nothing else it would encourage patience)

okay, so I gotta say I'm totally impressed with what the guys have done.. My hubby would NEVER do stamping with me- he thinks it's a waste of money(but lets me buy them anyways LOL).. It would be nice if he'd get into it- he's actually pretty creative himself.. Such is life though..LOL
BRAVO to all you lucky ladies for having the men in your lives take such an interest in all that you do!!!
