I remember a thread awhile back about purchases we regret, and almost everyone (me included) said they regretted buying cheap cardstock.
Well, I got my Sew Mini yesterday (love it!) and was desperate to practice. I cut up some of my old crappy cardstock into roughly card-sized pieces, and I cut some contrasting colors into smaller pieces. Voila -- tons of practice material (and no wasting my good CS).

I use my "crappy cardstock" for the sheet I put under my good cardstock...you know, when you are stamping on the edge of the card. I haven't bought any of the great grid paper from SU yet but that works great!!
I had quite a bit of ucky paper/cs that I bought when I 1st started into stampin'/scrappin'. My solution, altho not original, I'm sure, is to use it as under-layers on my cards/pages if the colors matched/blended well. Another is to make envys with the pattern inside with the *Kreate-A-Lope*. Heaven forbid I would just fling it all in the trash.. even tho thats where it really belongs. ;) I may as well get my $ worth.
May God bless, Sandi

I use my crappy cs and random funky DP for my sons to use when they play with my punches. They just get suck a kick out of making a heart or circle with my punch!!
Can you actually sew material with the Janome Mini?? We're going out of town this weekend and my dd wants me to sew her doll some clothes and I dont want to drag my full size machine with!

If I want to try a new more elaborate project with lots of folds and measuring I will practice on crap card stock before I move on to the "good stuff".
I also gave all my cheap crappy cardstock to my kids. The cheap cardstock can also be used for those little 3x3 cards rather than cutting a good sheet of the su cardstock. Especially since we only need small pieces for those little cards.

It's someone who buys stamps they didn't normally like at first, only to see it in Split Coast Stampers gallery in a different perspective.
I also use my crappy colored cardstock to print out templates from SCS. I always print two, one for my binder that is uncut and in the same sheet protector I have another that is cut out and ready to trace.
I use it for my kids too -- I actually (gasp) keep buying it so they'll stay out of my SU paper.
A tip for old DP that you don't like anymore. Try altering it -- we alter everything else right? I've used it to stamp on, changed it with glimmer mist, brayered over, distressed. Some still looks like old "cr*p" but some turns out okay.
Has anyone used old papers to make new handmade paper? I saw something on a TV show once about using a blender and paper.... if you did, did it turn out?
