Default Tim Holtz Distress Ink pads

I have several of these pads and am not sure how to properly use them. Is there something special you do with your paper?

Or check out Tim's blog http://www.timholtz.typepad.com/
Look on the left hand side at the Christmas tag tutorials. I learned so much about how to use his products from these - and of course, learned there were so many more I had to have ;)

I'm on my way to check out those links. I too was wondering what the big deal was with this kind of ink. There is a larger selection of it in our LSS than all the other inks combined.

Thanks. Those Christmas tags are so beautiful. I'll have to play tomorrow.

I just checked out those links. Thank you very much. Does any one know if you can use the distress ink like a normal ink pad witha stamped image? None of the demos I saw used it like that. It would just be nice to be able to distress a background for a card and then add a matching stamped image to it as well.

I my self just use it on plain paper as a background. I also take it the edges of paper. It is a fun ink!!! I will have to look at those links.

I also like to use them with highly detailed photo stamps like Thomas Kinkade, Impression Obsession and PaperBag Studios. The ink is not too heavy and really picks up the details of these types of stamps.

I have all the colors and just love them. I use a sponge along the edges of paper that i ink.

Although it's a dye ink you can emboss with it too - it stays wetter for longer than a regular dye-based ink so you can emboss over the top (either with regular powder or with the matching distress powders).
