This is the new cookbook thread. ALL updates and information will be posted here.
Because of certain events in the past days, I will be taking over all aspects of the cookbook-from payments to shipping. This is not a reflection on Jan-for the sake of her mental and physical health, she decided it was time to move on and I concur. I REALLY enjoyed working with her and hope she feels the same of me. Her contribution to this project was beyond valueable and I will miss her. I wish her the best of everything in her future and pray that the road gets smoother for her and her family.
That said-I'll get down to business.
ORDERING:::
Extras were ordered from the printer. They are available on a first come-first served basis. YOU MAY NOW USE PAYPAL. Or you may send a check or money order for $20 US/$23 CAN to:
Your check will need to clear before your cookbook is shipped. Make sure that you also give me your correct mailing address. Price includes Priority shipping.
ALL PROCEEDS GO TO SCS.
This will be the thread where I post weekly updates-probably on Friday nights or Saturday afternoons.

There has been a development. As you all know, there were some issues at the printers. One of the problems centered around the index. There was a miscommunication somewhere and it appears that there is currently no index for the cookbook. I am looking into this further.

The cookbook is undergoing another round of editing. Someone at the publisher deleted the edited copy and trashed it, so the cookbook was full of errors and that was unacceptable. Jan has agreed to do this wave of editing before turning it all over to me. Still working on the index situation.

1) There seems to be some confusion as to why I used the RAK list to complete the address on some of the labels. As you remember, Jan was the person to whom you were to send your money and address to. In early April-several events (cookbook and non-cookbook related) came to a head and Jan decided it was best for her, her family, and her health if she resigned from that post after the publisher submitted a final bill. As of right now-the final bill has not been given to her. Therefore, the records she kept are still with her until this stage is completed. Since she has them, I, obviously, do not.
In the interest of getting ready for when the cookbooks are to be sent out, I created mailing labels with the information available to me via e-mails, the records that she kept on a thread here on SCS, and the RAK list. I did them alphabetically. I thought that this reason would be obvious-IT'S EASY to do things alphabetically rather than randomly.
THEY WERE NOT DONE IN THIS MANNER BECAUSE I WAS PLAYING FAVORITES, BECAUSE I DON'T LIKE YOU, BECAUSE I AM BEING CONTRARY, OR BECAUSE I AM TRYING TO EMBEZZEL MONEY FROM THE SCS COOKBOOK ACCOUNT. I DID NOT DO IT BASED ON WHEN YOU PAID, NOR DID I DO IT BASED ON HOW MANY YOU BOUGHT.
The bottom line of why I did the labels off the RAK list is because it is an easier format than figuring out every person's SCS name and PMing them individually.
2) About these continued e-mails and PMs questioning my integrity. Up until now-I have, with 1 exception, been "sucking it up", "taking one for the team", and overall just accepting that there are people who MUST find suspicious motives in anything...even in a project like this. But, frankly, 1 e-mail claiming that there are "several" people who have doubts that they will ever see the cookbook is just 1 too many. Unfortunately, there have been many. I will reiterate the option to have your money refunded if your fear is so great that you feel this is a necessary step. You can bet that if I WAS stealing money, I would be writing this from my beach house in Fiji and not from my dumpy little apartment in Nebraska....but I digress. From now on-these offending e-mails WILL be forwarded to Daven.
3) The cookbook is imminent. They have been printed, we are just waiting on the cover.

There is seriously nothing to report from this week. I know that's gonna twist up some panties, but there really is nothing as the final bill has yet to be presented and still waiting for the cover to be completed.

Jan sent me the receipt books this week. I am going over them with a fine tooth comb for address updates, # of cookbooks ordered and RAKs.
THIS IS LAST CALL FOR UPDATING YOUR ADDRESS WITHME. Otherwise, I will send the cookbook to the address in the receipt book. (Some of you have already checked in with me. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIMELINESS.)
Also-Jan's brother actually LOST money on this project. I think it would be a nice gesture, and will increase goodwill, if we RAKed him and his family. I will get his address this week.

FYI for my friends North of the border who want to order cookbooks:::
First, please tell me you live in Canada. ;)
Second, currency conversion as of 8.10.05 makes the cookbook $24.22 CAD (via check), $25.43 CAD (via Paypal-I *think* that Paypal will convert for you on the send money page.)
