Question Favorite Cardstock other than SU

For those times when you don't have or want to use SU cardstock, what is your favorite, very nice cardstock to use? I have a preference for Bazill or more often, Colormates monochromatic cardstock. If you're not familiar with Colormates...here is an excerpt from the cardstock maker's website:

"ColorMates consists of 144 card stock colors from thirty-six color cardstock families each with four coordinating shades. Each cardstock color family consists of one - light, medium, dark and deep shade creating a broad color palette for all paper crafts." That's what I love about this cardstock, is that the color families are beautifully tinted to compliment each other and some even are very close to SU cardstock! If you haven't tried Colormates, give it a try. I buy it locally, but it is availalble through various online retailers.

I have most of the ColorMates in running order, all of the DualMates in running order and I don't use them alot for bases. I prefer a heavier CS.

TAC is the my favorite weight, but the colors are limited to Black, White, Olive, Red, Navy, Brown, Kraft. They say it is #80, but it is as heavy as the GP at Wal-Mart which is #110?

I love SU cardstock, but sometimes it is not heavy enough to carry a lot of layers or goodies.

I know what you mean about Colormates not being heavy for bases. That's why I line all my cards with white cardstock interiors...it makes for a very sturdy card. I've read where other people do that, too. I love Colormates because of the rich tinted colors which I think are richer than Bazzill or SU...and they're reasonably priced.

GP is "text weight" whereas a lot of other cardstocks are "cover weight" - there is a monumental difference as you have noticed. The GP is flimsy compared to the SU color collections (white and vanilla are also flimsy IMO). I have some Bazzil, but I don't really use it much. I really like Papertrey's Stamper's Select and their newly released Aqua Mist and Spring Moss. They are nice and heavy; I can't wait for them to release new colors...

I found some paper at big lots that I have really enjoyed I knoe its a luck of the draw sometimes you find stuff and then sometimes you dont but I have been lucky I bought navy, green, yellow, and black. the package says Treasures SMART Treasures does not have a weight on it but I love it you can use it by itself or you can layer it . I got the packs for $2.00 for 25 sheets 8 1/2x11 in the black and yellow and the rest were in the 12x12 for the same price. when ever I find a good buy I always share with my friends. but for the most I love SU paper and then I georgia pacific white cs at wally world. I use sometimes the packs you can get asst. colors at michaels on sale for 1.99 but those are only for kid projects you know my little pre-k -3rd graders. when you do 2or 3 classes of 20-25 kids you cut corners in some places but for the teacher gifts i always make sure I use the good stuff =) have a great evening ladies~~~bluegirl~~

Bazzil for Scrapbooking, because I don't need the colors to match ink and they have such a gorgeous array. SU! for stamping, as matching counts!

If I don't use SU, I use Papertrey's White Stampers Select. That is it!

Papertrey white for stamping, Bazzill textured for cardbases. (Although I love SU!'s textured now, and since it matches my inks and everything else, I haven't been buying Bazzill!)

Neenah Classic Crest coverweight 110lb. Just wonderful. Can get it by the ream (250 sheets) at Xpedx. Comes in two shades of white and a cream.

My favorite and most often used cardstock is Prism. It has a cool texture, but is a lot easier to stamp on than Bazzill. Plus they have wonderful colors!

I use cardstock from Prism Papers for all of my projects. Their main line is called Prismatics and is a nice weight and has both a smooth side and a textured side. The colors are very rich. They also have a heavier "metallics" line with lots of shimmer. The cryogen white form that line works very well with copics. Although, that said....I will admit to the fact that I am currently their design team coordinator and have worked with them for a few years now so may be a bit biased LOL...but I know there are a lot of other stampers here who use it as well and will agree with me that is is an outstanding cardstock.

After SU! I love CTMH and DCWV cardstock for the ability to distress the paper! Plus, they come in tonZ of colors so it's always easy to find a match!

Other than SU, I love Bazzill because of the all the wonderful textures (I'm addicted to the white for card bases) and there are just so many colors to choose from.

also, sorry to hijack this thread, but I've been wondering- what is the weight of Bazzill card stock? I'm thinking 80 lb?
