Thanks for posting the coupon! I'm registered on their site, but didn't get one in my email. I went back to their site today to be sure I'm registered and I am. I also decided to look at the ads, and I had to enter in my zip code for the store nearest me. It brought up the 2 we have in town and said their are no sales. Huh? I've gotten an ad in the Sunday paper every week (except for today and last Sunday), so I know they have sales on something every week. Anyone have any idea what I've done wrong or what I need to do to get the coupons in my email?
Please and thanks!

I noticed in the fine print on the coupon that it says "reproductions not accepted". Does that mean you can't use a print-out of the coupon, or just that you can't photocopy the coupon?

That's the same thing I was wondering.. I printed one off and am going to call the Michael's store in Springfield before driving the 100+ miles to go shopping.. we are supposed to go next weekend so I want to be sure ahead of time. I hope that they do. I tried to use a Hobby Lobby coupon there one time and they wouldn't take it because it was printed from online.. I explained that I lived so far away and that I didn't get their coupons, it didn't matter they would't budge.. so some nice lady standing nearby gave me her 50% off coupon..

I'll take mine to my Mike's but I guarantee they will give me a hard time. Our Mike's is awful and I only go there to get Martha glitter because I can't get it elsewhere. Hope they have the easter set still tomorrow AM when I go out there with the coupon. They might only get 2 or 3, believe it or not.
There was a Michael's ad w/ coupon in last Sunday's paper, but no ad today. I went through the paper twice to make sure I didn't miss it. The was one for JoAnn however.

I work in their frame dept. and this week is what they call a dark week. Which means there are no coupons in the paper but they have in store specials instead. Now they will start alternating weeks for paper coupons. I am not sure about the e-mail coupons, I haven't gotten any from them even before I started working there.

The last coupon that came last week is good until March 1st though. Then they will have a new coupon out.
If you do not have a coupon, ask for one at the register. If there is one for the week, they just have you sign your name then and give the 40% off of 1 item.

My local Michael's absolutely WILL NOT do this. They say you MUST have a coupon! There is another Michael's about an 1 1/2 hours from me that will, but our local Michael's refuses to do it! GRRR!

Go to the Michaels website and click on Customer Service link at the bottom. Then look to the links on the left of the screen for various questions. There is a question asking about coupons. Click on it and you will see the response. It (not quoting) that Michaels does not have an on-line coupon. You must get it through your local newspaper.
I guess there is no harm asking them to phone headoffice, while you wait, to confirm that this isn't allowed - if they are insisting on not honoring the coupon what is there to lose by asking that the decision be made by someone in a higher capacity?
other than re-posting it at SCS, where did this coupon come from originally? Is Michael's sending them out? And if so, is it to a small audience? I get their "ads" online but no coupon... and I can't find the "original" of this anywhere....
Anyone know where this was originally?

at our Michael's if you tell them you don't get a flyer they will give you the 40% off anyway you just write down your postal code and sign and away you go. I have never had a problem. If there was a special coupon other than there weekly 40% off one item they will give you the special one too.
The Mike's in my area won't honor the coupon and does not give discount even if you ask nicely. Bah, to them, but thank's for posting.

I just used this coupon at my brand new Michael's this morning -- bought the new Making Memories carousel organizer. The gals at the registers were so excited . . . it was the first internet coupon to be brought it.
And just an fyi for y'all, I always print any interent coupons in black using my quick print option and no one has ever said anything.
I no longer get my sunday paper but when I go into Michael's I put my name on a list for the 40% off that week due to the fact that I can't get the coupon. I do know that not all the M's do this though.
It'll be interesting to see if this coupon works at my Ms. They do take the J's coupons from the ads, but not online at my Ms. I'll probably take my 50% Js coupons this week along with this coupon. Thanks for sharing.
my michaels will take printed coupons but joann's will not take michaels printed adds those have to be either joanns or coupon from the ad. my michaels used to give us the 40% off if we didn't have the coupon but they dont anymore. I used to use mine and pass it to the person behind me to use, now they tear up the coupon. so if you need a michaels that uses it in orange county ca...brea or fullerton both honor them.
I emailed Michaels's myself and asked them if this is something new they will be doing. We will see if they even respond. They have not is the past so it's the luck of the draw once again.

Thank you! I may try and use it. I'm register online but I didn't get one. I get the newspaper too but apparently my Michael's thinks I live too far away to put coupons out for my area, at least, regularly. I get them maybe 4 times a year. I think they must put them out occasionally just to test how many they'll get back from my zip code. I usually end up taking in a Joann coupon if I want a discount because at least Joann will send them to me in the mail.
Fortunately, they're building a Michael's much closer that should be ready in the next year. I'm so excited!
I was curious about this so I emailed their customer service and this is the response that I received:
This is a notification from the Michaels Customer Care Department.
Your Ticket Number 01384034 has been updated.
Call Description: I have read on a message board that Michaels is now doing
online coupons....is that true? If so, how do I sign up. Also if true
will you also accept online coupons from competitors?
Thank you for your time.

New Entry: Thank you for your email. This is a test only to assist Michaels
in determining our future direction for online coupons.
Michaels is attempting to determine the best way to market our products and
that this test will ultimately benefit all customers.
We unfortunately do not have any mechanism available to "push" a coupon to
a particular customers email so if you did not receive the initial email
then you were not included in the test.
