Sorry, if someone already posted or in wrong place. I went to Mic today to buy my first "stumps" and asked if there was a coupon today. The cashier said starting this weekend, the coupons will only be available on line. She let me read the memo. Mic called it a "testing" period to see if it will work.
FYI
Thanks for the heads up on this - I was looking for the circular in the paper today and couldn't find it, looks like this may explain everything.
Thanks for letting us know. I guess I'd have to say it's not going to work if the coupon is only good for specific items... like today's is for beading. Don't get me wrong I love beads but, a generic coupon works better for me.
Michaels does not put a coupon on their on-line website like AC Moore does. You must get the Michaels coupon in a newspaper.
In the past few months, they haven't had a coupon or sale flyer each week.
But you can (in most stores) go to the cashier and tell her that you didn't get a coupon or don't get a newspaper and they will give you the 40% coupon off on the purchase of one non-sale item. They will ask you to put your name and zip code on a sheet when doing this. No big deal.
I'm signed up with Michaels, but they no longer send me their sale flyer each Sunday morning. That seemed to stop about 4-5 months ago.
Patti,
It may vary by state or community. I got a coupon just last week. It's still on my refrigerator.
According to my store, and the memo I read from their manager you must sign up on line and they email the coupon. That's my area. GEORGIA
Someone posted the coupon is for beading only this week. Not the one posted just above by MAC BABE. It does mention beading but not beading only.

I printed the above coupon and it says its for "beading, floral, scrapbooking, framing, home decor and much more!"

All the typical Michael's speak.
Thanks for posting that because the one I have is just for beading, so I did get the one you referred to. Although for the most part Michael's really doesn't have much that I want anymore. They really need to get new stuff in on a regular basis.
Wow! I work for them and we haven't heard anything about on-line coupons only! I guess I will have to go ask when I work, again! Sometimes we are the last to know about what is going on. I wish they would be quicker about getting info to the sales associates. I do know that starting this week is a dark week which means no sales flyer. Then there will be one the following week, because we have already been sent copies of it. There should be in store sales though.

What I find interesting is that the Michael's near me doesn't accept computer generated coupons normally. They do accept competitiors coupons but not if they are from the internet. I wonder if they are changing this policy as well.
Thanks for the info.

I can't wait to hear their stand on this.
I guess you could always say you work at a newspaper and printed it there
They did a test of online coupons in the Metro Detroit area a few months ago.
It was a headache. Most of the people at the Michael's I went to did not know about the online coupon being tested. I had to argue with them to let me use it. I just printed off the new one. Hope it isn't the same experience this time!
I don't get the paper on Sundays anymore, so anytime I want to use a coupon, I have to ask for an exception. My guess is that Michael's finally realized that newspaper readership is DOWN all over the country...it's no longer the great advertising venue it used to be. I get Target's ad online now...so Michael's should do the same and have their coupon in there. Most people would not abuse an online coupon...I'm lucky if I manage to get there in weeks where there is a coupon to use the one I have, much less printing off multiple ones and hitting 8 Michael's stores in a row!
