If I get enough interest (15-25) I'll call the church and see about booking a date for January or early Feb.
So, let me know, Nola

Hello - sorry for the late reply- but I was wondering if you do normal Get Togethers in this area? I am located in Billerica, MA. I am actually looking to try and get together with a SU! Demo perhaps so I can talk to one and ask them a few questions. I'm thinking of becoming one but I want to find some local to my area that I could have as a resource, etc. Are you a demo? Or can you recommend someone?
Kerry---Nice to hear from you---I checkd your tiny gallery--wish mine was that organized!!!! my desk is COVERED right now---had to clean the D/table off as my Club met last night--it will be covered again as I'm having a Holiday Stamp a Stack this Sunday afternoon----from 2-5 if you want to join in--I'm in Westford Mass---not too far from you---its $18 per dozen--4 different themes. I can send you a flyer---if you give me your e-mail address. Yes, I'm a Demo--been stampin for 5 years, Demoing since 2/05. I have a monthly Club of 10---meets the 2nd week of the month--usually---and of course would love to meet with you---here or your place or somewherer inbetween to chat about Stampin'. I LOVE your Big E page. So let me know--e-mail me at: [email protected]
Thanks much, Nola

I am just outside Manchester, NH and I would be interested in coming to Chelmsford for a day of scrapbooking or stamping. I probably have some friends who might like to come too. Please keep me posted. What would the cost be?
Maybe we could run it like a Stamp Camp but with everyone coming share a proejct & bring all the supplies to make it---If we did got with the church it would be $50 to rent the hall. If it was at my house--I have a fairly large D/table & Kitchen table too---and a looooonnnnngggg driveway---then it would be much less. I just wanted to throw it out there---as I did not get to the Regional down in PA and Palm Springs is just tooo far away with Air Fairs so expensive and it's so close to be just after Christmas.
So let's keep the thread going and see where we end up!
Thanks, Nola

hi! i'm in upton and there's another massachusetts thread here. i'd definitely be interested and i'm sure my sistah would be, too. many of the other threads mention a *shoebox* swap where everyone brings a project in a shoebox to share. that sounds like fun. i was thinking of a CASE swap where we all share a card we cased cause i sure never see it all here! after the new year works for me.

Sorry I let this get a way from me----so, there is definately some intererest in a get-to-gether---I like the shoebox idea--now that we will have a new catty soon---let's see if we can agree on a date and time---maybe a Saturday afternoon---I can checkwith my church in Chelsmford and see how much they might charge for one of the rooms----the one I have in mind even has a small kitchen---but none of the buidling is really handicap access--steps to and from---would that be a problem for anyone?
It would likely be a small group of us--maybe limit it to 25? What do you think?
Let's keep the thread going and see where we are after the Holdiays are over!
Thanks for the posting, I'll tgry to keep on top of it better, Nola

I think that's a great idea Nola - we could have a January thaw event! It would be great to get together--especially after the holidays! I always believe you set a date and it happens...like maybe we say the third Saturday in Jan SOMETHING happens somewhere!

Ok, I like that idea--setting a date and seeing who can make it----this would be for anyone who LOVES SU! I'll call today and see if we can get a date at the Church. Back in touch later, Nola

I'm from Pelham, NH. I live in Oregon right now but my family still lives out there. If I ever get the chance to visit I would love to stamp with you all! Maybe I can get my mom and sister into it!!!
Ok Save the date---SATURDAY, Jan. 26---The room I want to use is open at the church we attend in Chelsmford, Mass---but I still need to clear it with one of the trustees. I'll call him tonight. There will likely be somekind of charge for us to all split---any extras will go towards D/prizes (oh wow, just like a real SU! event!!!???) Sorry guys, no free sets--LOL!
I love the idea of Shoebox projects---timing will likely be from 11-4 and will include everyone bringing a lunch item to share.
So, feedback please...
So excited, Nola

I too am in Billerica, and would love to come to this! I'd had already been talking with Nola via email. So just let me know the details as it gets closer!!
Ok, just an update---I really am looking forward to this Gathering of Stampers but I've got to put it in writing for the church we'll use and their Trustees has to approve it as they do it by a case by case basis and they don't meet till Mid Jan again!!! So, Sorry gals but looks like it will be pushed back to February. This is a great location and since I'm well established there it should be a "shoo-in." I'll let you know more as it happens---keep the thread running and tell your North of Boston STampin buddies----to log on too---there should be room for up to 30 of us.
All the best, enjoy the SNOW, Nola

Hi, I'm right outside of Manchester, but I would drive down to Chelmsford. Sounds like fun. I have subbed to this thread. Originally I was going to say I'm a no, since I broke my ankle, but depending on how things go, Feb. may be doable.

hey everyone - so I know this isn't really related to our potential gathering, but my Husband stumbled upon some great local info while doing some Christmas Shopping for me this year (woohoo!!) and I wanted to share it with you!
There is a great new Scrapbook Store in Tewksbury, MA - right on Main St near the Tewksbury Country Club. It's called "The Scrapbookers Dream". I went there tonight to check it out and the owner is SUPER nice. She has an absoutely AMAZING crop room. I have never seen anything like it. Lots of lush leather chairs with individual workspace, etc. She offers lots of crop nights and other workshops, so I think I might definitely try and go there really soon!! Anyway, if anyone is thinking of doing a night you should post it here so we can maybe meet up there? Here is the information:
ohhhhh! I am so going to check this place out! Maybe even today....I don't have a really good scrap store around me and there are some things you can't count on Michaels or ACMoore for. Thanks for the wonderful tip!!!!!

This place looks great!!! If my DH saw this store he would have NEVER told me about it!!!!LOL
I think I might be going there!!! Classes look good, can't wait.
hope you all have good luck with it! It was a little hard to find in the dark, the sign is sort of small, and white with black lettering. It's on the opposite side of the street that the Country Club is...just so you know!!
My husband has realized that once I start going there to scrap he might never see me again, LOL!
just came home from the scrap booker's dream and....OH MY! what fun sis and i had! we are definitely going to try and do some of her workshops or *the bus tour.* this is where a bus load of stamper/scrappers go to 4 different great stores from ma, ri, and ct. at each store there will be make and takes, door prizes, and, of course, shopping. all food is included. sounds like loads of fun. $65. her crops are just $20 and go from noon to midnight and include supper. the leather chairs might be worth the $20 ALONE! tell her you found out about it on scs! oh yeah-sizzix are 30% off ALL THE TIME!!!

She has TONS of paper, tools, machines, and other inventory. I had to pull myself outta that place, LOL.
Hope this helps some of you!!
Happy New Year to All
I have to agree! I went there today and she has a TON of stuff I haven't seen anywhere else. A lot of cute brads with colors that match SU colors. I'll be going back again. It was a bit difficult to find the actual store-she needs a better sign!

WOW--I see this thread has now brought us to list our favorite stamping stores----that's fine by me. I was OOT for the Holidays, back now---mine is---Ink About It in Westford---fairly small but packed shop right on Boston Road---in a SMALL plaza with Paul's Diner.
Now that I'm back I'll get the request for use of the building off in writing ASAP.
List your favorite nearby stores here--to keep the link going.
Thanks everyone, Nola

Hello ladies! I am on the MA/NH border and would be really interested in your gathering if there's still room; usually my SIL and I go to any local gatherings that we can! I'll be watching for more info; I am also really excited to see another local store has opened; I spend a lot of time at Ink About It and Absolutely Everything (in Topsfield); I was in Tewksbury Friday having my car appraised and went from there to Ink About It; had I known there was a store in Tewksbury, I would have gone there!!!! I'm off to check out there site!

I am always interested in local area get togethers! I'm in Wincheser, MA.
Two of my friends have gotten to the "newly discovered" Tewksbury store and they loved it and spent lots of $ of scrapping stuff. Alas I have not been yet. But it's on my soon-to-do list!
I'll keep an eye on this list for info about a Feb swap.
Hi all - I'm just north of Boston - Karen (kjpp) just let me know about this thread - I'd be interested if it's a day that I can do - how does a shoebox thingy work? what do we bring etc??
thanks - this sounds like fun!

I'm not sure how the shoebox thing works myself-but I bet someone here does! I think we should all set a date for Feb! Nora (njburk) was looking at her church to see if we could meet there. I think she was going to find out in Mid-January. It would be a great break from all this snowy slush!

1. Design a card
2. Precut all the supplies for the number of participants to make your card
3. On the day of the event, we all go arond and explain how to make our card. Then everyone goes around and completes the cards until they are all done.
So, basically it's a whole afternoon/day/whatever of cadmaking, but you only have to come up with one idea
HTH

Hi is this still on for Feb and are there any openings? I am south of boston but I know Westford is only 45 min from me so I think Chelmsford would be about the same
