I don't know the answer to that, but I never use the chisel point, so I always make sure that I store them with the brush side down in a plastic cylindrical conntainer.

Not 100% on this but I think it could be myth...I am told that the Copic people say that it doesn't matter how you store them...vertical or horizontal, makes no diff~

I'm hoping to squeeze into see the Copic booth at CHA...I can foresee it being a very popular booth...and if I can get to someone there, I'll ask. May I ask where you heard this? I've never heard of storing them at a slant...exactly how would you do that anyway?

It would make sense to me that where you store them is more important than how you store them, as there is evaporation from both ends of the marker, no matter how tightly the cap is on ... keeping them in a cool place would be a beneficial thing?

Yes, I asked two folks at the Copic booth and they both said that it doesn't matter how you store them. It has to do with the way that they are manufactured that the ink will remain stabalized for both ends whether store upright, flat, or diagonal. So the consensus was just to store them in their cases, make sure the lids are securely pushed in when put away, and you're good to go. I hope that helps.
