March 2008... EASTERN NY (including VT, CT & MA) Shoebox Swap
Do we know how to party or what ???? Hey ladies.. let's stamp
Saturday March 15th Trinity Reformed Church Curry Road, Rotterdam NY Exit 25A of the NYS Thruway (directions below)
Time... 9:30 - 4:45
Registration Fee.... $30 which includes... lunch, drinks (water & soda) and a door prize for ALL.. Regisration dead line... Saturday February 9th (which will give you 5 weeks to prepare)
What do I need to know... Plan on a day of fun, stamping and lots of laughs.. We will start out the day with our table shoe box swaps. (please see below for swap information).. After that we'll brake for a catered lunch (TBD.. probably pizza (or) subs or may be a lot lunch of some sort.. I need to see what I can have catered..).. After lunch we'll do some type of fun projects that we (your hosts) will prepare for you... Door prizes, Gift Swaps, picture taking etc..
What should I bring with me.. Well, you'll need all of your shoebox swap supplies. Remember, your table mates are relying on you to bring everything they need so make your list and check it twice..
You'll also need... Adhesive and lots of it..Bone folder.. if you use one.. a Paper cutter/scorer... your favorite Scissors... a Pen/Pencil... Paper for taking notes.. stamp cleaner and spray.. as well as anything else you normally use when your stamping !
Please DON'T FORGET YOUR CAMERA...
Door Prizes... YEAH.... eveyone attending will receive a door prize.. If you happen to have new & unused (in their original wrapper) supplies that you would like to donate towards the door prizes please email me directly at [email protected]
Garage Sale... YEP... Please bring any items that you would like to trade or sell. As a reminder.. Currrent SUP supplies may be traded & can not be sold.. Any retired products may be offered for sale. We will have some shopping time in the afternoon.
Church Donations... (Participation is OPTIONAL).. I'd love it if we could give back a little to the church. Therefore I will have a box set up if you'd like to donate any canned goods (or) non-parishable foods for their food pantry.. I will also have a box for full cards to dontate to their card ministry. During the winter months they have many homebound parishaners that don't get out much.. A card may brighten their day. Jane goes though many many cards during the winter months so this would be a good opportunity to replensh her supply.

Mandatory Swaps... Here's your chance to show off your talents.
Shoebox Swap...(Participants... ALL 13) ... You will be making 1 project for your tablemates (total # will be determined by the # of attendees) which can be a card, 3d or altered item.. Anything you choose as long as it involves stamping. Your responsibility will be to prepare & bring all of the supplies needed for your project.
Please bring 5 completed items of your shoebox project.
(1) for your table as an example,
(2) for Thank-you's and
(2) for doorprizes.
Name Tag... Let's put a name to a face.. You're welcome to be as unique as you'd like to be.. Please include your real & SCS names. We will be voting and have a prize for the best and most original name tags.
Optional Swaps...These should be completed and brought with you the day of the swap.. Your welcome to participate in as many or as few as you'd like but we ask that you participate in at least 1..
Full Card/ No vendor requirement... This should be a full card with a minimum of 2 layers and at least 1 embellishment.
Full Card/ SUP demo quality... This is a full card with a minimum of 2 layers and at least 1 embellishment. ALL supplies must be current SUP products & of demo quality. You do not however need to be a demo to participate in this swap..
Anything but a card (Easter Theme)... Here's something a little different. Since Easter is the following weekend we thought this would be fun.. This can be anything stamping related other than a card. There is NO vendor requirements for this swap.
In/ From the Garden (your choice.. does not need to be card).. Spring should (we'll keep our fingers crossed) be in the air. This swap is stampers choice. It can be anything (including a card). Your choice. Again, there is NO vendor requirements but if you do decide to make a card it should be a FULL card with a minimum of 2 layers and 1 embellishment. Some ideas may include... plant stakes, gardening journal, garden pin or note cards..
Gift Swap... Wow.. this was fun at the CNY get together.. If you would like to participate, all you need to do is bring a wrapped gift. There are no restrictions on WHAT to bring. However, let's keep in mind that this is a stamping event...it would be great to have it be something handmade with stamps or something related to stamping. The value should be approximately $5.00. This will be a Yankee Trader style swap (we'll be drawing #'s and the next person is allowed to steal from someone or pick from the table, etc.) Be sure to include your name somewhere inside, so the lucky winner knows who to thank.
Where is everyone that was on the other thread who wanted to come. I am inviting my aunt. I just gave her the info tonight so I will get right back to you. I need a driving partner. Not really, but it would be nice.

Snow... were up to our eyeballs.... Or at least.. my fur babies eyeballs.. LOL We were only supposed to get 3" and I think we've got at least 8. It took me over an hour and a half to get home.. and it normally is a 13 minute drive... DH is still plowing. I think he's finally got my car in the driveway and someone else just called all stuck.. Doot Do Do Do... Dean to the rescue..
It took me three hours to get home from Manchester today. It was the worst drive I've had in all my years of traveling for work. They sure misjudged this one and their calling for a Nor'easter on Sunday - fa la la la la
Here in CT I am excited for the snow and etc. on Sunday. It will give me a chance to wrap the rest of the Christmas presents and send out the last minute gifts to my SCS friends and X-mas cards.

P.S. My aunt is worried that her shoebox swap card won't be as good as everyones here on SCS. I told her I didn't want to hear that nonsense.
