My neighbor just told me that the One of a Kind set has been put on indefinite hold while a problem with it gets resolved. Any idea if this is true and if so how long that might take? I was going to order this and the matching punch during sale-a-bration and wonder if it is worth waiting to place my order.

Yeah, I wanted it and found out it is on hold due to a problem with the quality. Bummer.
it's not really a quality issue, but some seem to be having a hard time lining up the coordinating punch once the flower trio is stamped. should be resolved fairly soon!
All demos are devasted as well - I know I had this on my SAB order. I almost cried. My berry bliss paper is going to be so lonely without one of a kind.
I just got the stamps and the punch the other day and haven't tried them yet. What should I do if they don't line up? Is that something that SU would take back if I decide to return it?

I have the set also, and I haven't purchased the punch yet. Will they replace the problem stamp?

If it turns out there's a problem, of course SU will fix it. The thing is, is it really a problem? As of right now, "some people" are having trouble mounting the 3-flower stamp so that it aligns with the punch exactly. NOT all people, including myself.
It could be possible that some batches of the stamp run got messed up somehow. Somebody mentioned that they might use more than one matrix plate to make them, I suppose so simultaneous batches can be run. If one of them was a little "off," that would explain why only some people are having trouble.
The other possibility could be that some people are not thinking ahead to how the stamp will align with the punch. If you just slap the rubber onto the wood without trying to get it exactly right, your chances of proper alignment go down, drastically!
I would say wait and see what SU says. If it were me, though, I'd just go ahead and try to do my best getting it mounted correctly. (Of course, lol, that could just be because I didn't have any trouble when I got my set!)
Whatever you decide, though, SU will definitely fix any problems.

Reason: clarification
I got the stamp set and the punch and mine aligns up just fine. Hopefully whatever the issue is, it gets worked out soon.. I know that many wanted the stamp set.. even if they didn't want the punch.

I used my demo's set today & it was fine. No alignment issues...and I made some really cute stuff with it!
I have the spring set (Looks like spring?) that had a coordinating punch with it. I do know it takes a good eye to get it lined up just right...and then hold it in place....PUNCH and hope you didn't move your paper when you did it!!!
I really hope it comes back.

How you put the stamp on the wood has absolutely NO effect on alignment of the punch. Unfortunately, some of the stamps are not aligned with the punch. Unfortunately again, I happen to be one of those people. I have to stamp several times and punch just one flower at a time instead of all 3. It's very frustrating and I'm glad that SU is fixing the problem. Please be patient as SU wants to provide the best possible products to their customers.
Hi gals, here's another thread on this topic. Check out how Jenn D mounted her stamps...fabulous idea! Forums at Splitcoaststampers
Jenn had a great idea. I'm going to be microwaving my stamp to unmount them and cut all 3 flowers out separately and remounting them according to the punched negative.
Well, that's a bummer. I just looked at my wish list for the next month's SU club party and I have both the punch and One of a Kind on my list. I bought the Berry Bliss paper at the last party and thought I would pace myself which is something I normally don't do. Oh well, back to the catalogue and this time there's no holding back.

Hi Ladies, in case any of you are wondering what to do with the boho flower punch until the one of a kind stamp set becomes available for purchase again, check out these possibilities I found while playing around with other stamp sets last night (click on the picture for a larger image): http://stampwithdiane.blogspot.com/2...-solution
Well...I tried my set last night and the punch did not line up. So I thought okay I will just puch each flower out individually. It still did not line up with the biggest flower. I am going to look into the microwave trick everyone was talking about, but I don't think that will solve the problem because it wouldn't line up with the biggest flower individually. I don't think I should have to cut each image out and mount individually in order to get it to line up with the punch. I guess I belong to that group of "some people" who don't know how to mount stamps (as someone mentioned before)

I think you hit on the potential problem. I know when I was in a stationery factory, the envelope liners were cut from a huge sheet with a huge die. If ONE of the individual die lines was off, some liners wouldn't fit, but not every liner in the batch.
This is disappointing because I plan to only place one order from this catty, which I was going to do in February for Sale-a-bration. Then I wasn't going to order anything until the retirement list came out. What's even more frustrating is that I don't even want to order the punch, I just want the stamp set.
I was having a very difficult time trying to decide between this set and True Friend, maybe I'll just order True Friend now. Also, didn't I read somewhere that SU will not be retiring anything new from this catty? So this set will be available this fall, right?

You're right, Julie...the set will still be available throughout the whole year.
Thanks, then I'll at least have a chance to get it later on. Or maybe I'll just order it anyway and wait it out. It's not like I'll have nothing to play with right away, anyhow, I'm only qualifying for 4 Saleabration sets.

I talked to DS about this yesterday. They said that they were not even aware of the problem until a demo called them last week and pointed it out. I was assured that once everything is said and done, SU will be sending a replacement for that stamp for all of them that were ordered up to the point where the problem was identified (I had to run down and check on mine, as it was mounted but unused - it DID have the problem - I would be willing to bet that most customers would not have even noticed the misalignment and would have chalked it up to holding the paper slightly off and just been happy with good enough.) I'm not worried, as SU has always made good on any quality issues such as this one . . .
Well, I believe the problem is with the label NOT the stamp!. I've been watching the threads lately and prepared my self. I was able to get the set before it was put on hold.
What I did was punch the flowers, cut my stamp in one piece, lined it to match the punch out. Then I carefully placed my block on top and it stamps/punches fine! Then I went to apply the label and it went on crooked.
No biggie, but I imagine that since we normally apply the label first, then the stamp, this is were I can see the problem lies, where it doesn't line up??
Well, we will see when the news sets are out.

*UPDATE from the SU demo site* The problem WAS with the label. When SU gets the corrected ones, I'm sure you all will be happy with the corrected set. SU is also replacing the one stamp, block, and label with the corrected one to all who previously ordered the set. No date yet as to when this will take place.
How awesome is that??!!!!!

Just to add...people who have already purchased and received the set do not have to do anything. SU will automatically send the corrected stuff to them --- no claim form required.
From what I understood from their announcement (which wasn't complete with a date, by the way), the orientation of the label as it is printed might prompt people to mount it differently than the punch is oriented. I'm not positive I understand, probably because I didn't have any problem whatsoever. I can't really visualize what they're fixing, lol! All I know is, they ARE fixing the problem with a new label, and people that already have the stamp set will receive a new 3-flower stamp, wood block and label automatically.
