I saw the posts on storing stamp sets like books- loved it! I had my sets stacked around- floor, boxes, etc. I've always hated digging around trying to find what I wanted. So I emptied one of our bookcases-! Now the books are stacked all over the floor! It made ME happy, anyway! Thank you for all the great ideas. Becky
I love that and mine are similar except I have mine stacked rather than on their sides (I was told they could slide from rubber - when stored on sides). If anyone else out there knows for sure please let us know as I do like them set up on sides rather than stacked
I have mine all stacked on their sides in a couple of 3 drawer plastic carts, for several years now and have not had any problem with them sliding off the wood mounts. Could be different climates or something , but I had never heard of that before.
My DH wasn't too happy when I took over the family room.......oh well, he took over the basement so we're even! :P Glad you found inspiration from us!

I have a solution for your DH--offer to sell all the books on ebay or half.com and buy more stamps to fill the second shelf. That way there are no books on the floor for your hubby to trip over, and you get even more stamps. Perfect solution!
I live in eastern NC, where you can cut the humidity with a knife and the temp is frequently over 90. I've stored my stamp sets on end in a rolling cart for about 5 years and never had any trouble with the rubber sliding off. I like the idea about selling the books and buying more stamps ,too!
~LOL~ I LOVE the photo - TFS
I'm going through organizational upheaval myself and am in the process of turning the spare bedroom totally into my stamp room and am in the process of doing exactly what you did..... dump the non-stamping stuff in the floor and fill up the spaces with stamps and cs and tools! and now what to do with the other stuff.... hmmmm town yard sale coming up next month....
I have to put my stamps in a latched cabinet or else my son would have them all over the place! It looks good! I started doing SU! when my husband was deployed and he was not too happy about how I took over the dining room as my craft area. He has been cool about it though! He is already looking at houses for when we move and he is looking at 4 bedrooms so I can have a room all to myself!
from the picture, it looks like you could move the bookshelf away from the wall and stack at least some of the books behind it.
Love Pam's Idea!! You could box them up and put them in the garage or storage room (whatever you have) that is what I always do when the hubby says "this is a mess" I go boxing up things and putting them in "His Space" to deal with later!!! He LOVES that!!!!
OOOH...sell stuff to make room for more stampin' stuff...! That is the absolute best idea I've heard here yet! Ever since I read that, I've been looking around...unfortunately for DH, his stuff seems the most expendable.

Now you've got it. If he doesn't like the mess, get rid of it, at least threaten to. Then he'll just be ecstatic if you let him keep the books and won't say a thing about the mess. Say, why can't he clean it up if they are his books?
